really? as in musically, right? because tyler's the one that tweeted about earl's twitter, hence the 50,000 followers. (in case you didn't already know)
True, but Earl's new website has nothing to do with OF and OF's tweets about him return have been less than ecstatic.

Goblin was a bit of a disappointment to me. All about Bastard. That album, along with Earl should both go down as rap classics.

When they're on point, they REALLY are. It just too bad that 99% of the time they aren't. Hip-hop has always been disgustingly inconsistent in quality (it always should've stayed singles oriented music anyway), but OF take that to ridiculous levels.

MellowHype are the best thing about OF, tbh. Unless Earl suddenly gets consistently good beats.

EARL is a really really dope album. Only other OF I've heard is Goblin (like everyone else) which has some great moments (Analog! Why wasn't this a single?), and Radical.

Earls album though, damn. Can't wait to hear some new shit from him.

At the very least they are prolific.

Looks like Earl is still in some sort of 'programme', but he's able to make and release music again... so I guess rejoining OF isn't an option right now.

Amazed at the amount of pull a kid who's released so little has after disappearing for a while... release a snippet of music, have 100,000 followers within a few hours. The world wants product Earl... make yourself rich before they get bored and move on!

couldn't disagree more... check 1991-96 for consistency, a ridiculous amount of classic albums then. I think hiphop is pretty much the best music suited to the album format too.

but +1 on odd future being very inconistent... still worth digging through the rubbish tho
as far as these new rap kids go tho, I'm way more excited about asap rocky and his album forthcoming atm

On a related note, this Domo Genesis track just dropped with Wiz Khalifa. Pretty good, surprisingly. http://pitchfork.com/reviews/tracks/131 ... z-khalifa/

As for my thoughts on OF, Tyler is ridiculously overhyped. Goblin sucked, Bastard had its moments and I can't deny Yonkers fucking goes.

I am really feeling SpaceGhostPurrp right now though, on that ASAP kind of tip (I think SGP has been rapping for longer though?) but they both do a lot more for me than the OF crew. Also, The Internet's music is fucking awful, I'm sorry but who allowed that?

Mike G's album, Ali, is by far the most underrated OF release.

Tyler's good, I wouldn't say he's overhyped really..considering how empty, mediocre, and faceless rap is now. At least he offers something unique. He needs to lay off all the rape talk though, it's just boring and one dimensional. Same with Earl..they can rap and come up with really clever ways to say things, they just need to figure out what they really want to say.

A$AP is good too. One could argue they're carried by the production, but they just have so much swagger. Nast is probably the best imo. His verse on 'Trilla' is really, really good. I also love Ferg's off-the-wall flow on 'Kissin Pink'. Rocky doesn't have too many standout verses on Live.Love.ASAP, but his verses on Blue Dream & Lean and Habits & Contradictions are both really good.

SGP probably has the most potential imo. Maybe not commercially, but he just seems to really "get it". Didn't know he had a new project out. Been waiting on Trilluminati for a while now.
hey, you wouldn't hire a clown to fix a leak in the john..so why do you let these hooligans tear down the biz?

Yes yes, the tape is ridiculously good. I have no idea what to class it as but it manages to create a proper consistent aesthetic and sound that I'm really feeling

Earl not being affiliated with OF might be the best news I've ever heard

to be honest I hate OF productions, absolutely HATE them

I feel like Earl's more likely to make better tracks w/o OF than with them, besides he's by far the best rapper in the group
