Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Anyone complete the Dark Brotherhood quest line before the main quest line?
Just wondering if I should complete the main quest line b3fore I go and off the emperor.

Just bought it with a £20 gift certificate I had from amazon.
Best £2.50 I've ever spent

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
After the latest patch - and before that using the 4GB ram mod - it runs smooth as butter on my laptop. Only ever come across a really small amount of bugs and they were pretty superficial - people walking through walls.
Just going mad on the magic hype. For any destruction mages, apparently a trick is to level enchanting as high as possible, get the perks which give you +100% on enchantments, and then use Fortify destruction enchantments on every item you can wear. Adept level spells then cost hardly anything at all, and you can start decking out with heavy armour.

I used to be just like you, then I took an arrow to the knee.
Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Haven't played this for ten days. Patch 1.2 fucked up my magic resistance and had backwards flying dragons
Has Patch 1.3 hit the consoles yet? Can't wait to get back playing. Also I bought it for £40 two weeks ago and now its £22.50 everywhere. FAIL

Oh dear. Might have to wait til the New Year then or start a fresh game and play twenty hours until the lag kicks in again. PS3 for the win.deadly habit wrote:1.3 didn't really fix anything

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
honestly i reverted my pc version back to 1.1 and have had less issues than with the 1.2 and 1.3 patches
Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Yeah I would love them to make 1.1 available again on PSN. Had no problems with 1.1 then stupidly updated to 1.2 thinking it would fix the lag when it kicked in and it proved to be a gamebreaker. Lesson learnt. Snagged Oblivion GOTYE for £3 on Steam the other day so been sessioning that instead. Still longing for a bit of Skyrim though.deadly habit wrote:honestly i reverted my pc version back to 1.1 and have had less issues than with the 1.2 and 1.3 patches

that's the changelog for the 1.3 patch

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Not a lot of changes then. I am hoping it just makes it slightly more playable for me as I know they are putting more efforts into the 1.4 patch for the ps3 in the New Year though I doubt they can eradicate the lag entirely. Will be waiting six months after release before buying another Betheseda game on the PS3.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
honestly i wouldn't want any betheseda game on a console since even after official patches it's usually the modding community that fixes their games or makes them more worthwhile to play
Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Exactly how bad are the PS3 problems?
I was considering grabbing it to play over the Christmas break I got from uni as I'll finally have time and reckon this game looks wicked.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
True just a vanilla version on consoles. At least the xbox version seems playable. PS3 got lumbered with the shite port once again. Probably get it on PC when i build a gaming rig next year
Quite bad at the moment though its pot luck, you may not have any problems. The majority are getting severe lag further on in the game due to the increasing file size. If you have an xbox or decent pc that would be the safest bet at the moment. That said I played this for longer than other games before it fucked up so it could be worth a punt but its hard to recommend a broken game in its current state.wolf89 wrote:Exactly how bad are the PS3 problems?

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
I played Fallout 3 GOTY on 360. It was pretty non-buggy apart from a game breaking bug that stopped me from finishing the story quests about 2/3rd through.deadly habit wrote:honestly i wouldn't want any betheseda game on a console since even after official patches it's usually the modding community that fixes their games or makes them more worthwhile to play
