Okay, my tune is now just a clip, as I'm nearly there. Few things to change around yet.

@amphibian - Liking this, personally I would make the clap louder but not too much, even then I really like this track.

@Beardyman123 - Good start but you need to have more progression in the track even if you use the same two or three synths, try changing the notes and even the structure, could also change up the drums a little to make it more interesting to the listener.

Heres my latest track, made it in about an hour at 3am, hasn't had a mixdown but I do need some feedback to improve it.

YOU FORGOT TO REVIEW THIS GUY'S TUNE!!! cmon guys, hes a beginner in production
AND YES, HE DID LEAVE FEEDBACK IN SEPARATE POSTS (he has no prior experience with forums :roll: )

EDIT: I was tired when I posted this and now realize that I was being too harsh. Sorry guys, but still please give my friend some feedback.
More syncopation and swing on hihats are gravely needed imho. and some variations on the hihat sound of course. Is there really only only the open hihat sound through the whole song?. cant say much more than that as i too am a beginner in production.

BTW would feedback posted on soundcloud on songs found here count among the 3 feedback posts ?

Liking the melody on this and the middle break is haunting. I think the kick is lacking some punch tho, although that could be intentional for the style of track?

i guess, if you want to. but it would be less obvious to the other members here and people might think that you were trying to get feedback without giving it........so i wouldn't

@jrisreal
good point, thanks!
I liked your just synthing around. Nice rytmic energy in the modulations. do you mean that its never gonna be a complete track :(

@Glue reed
I like the moody piano. and the sliding movement in the sub that seems to follow the piano in some bars.

Here's a wierd thing i want feedback on. Its got brass in it!

@Pony Boy: Another good track, nice arrangement with some good variation throughtout, although I personally think it's a bit top heavy. Could do with maybe losing some of the harshness at the top end and giving it some more sub.

BTW, is Pill Dub finished now?

what I hear lacking is eq on the high end and feedback for three other people's WIPS. Read the rules for this thread before posting

ponyboy- writing as im listening, nice intro, maybe turn the kick down a tiny bit. main sections big, a bit strong on top though, otherwise solid effort mate nice one.

banderson- somehowe you made brass a credible dubstep instrument haha, proper on a medieval ting :L work on your wobbles though mate theyr lacking crispness.

amphibian- liking the chiller vibe pal, turn the sub a touch but im listening on shitty headphones so feel free to ignore that.

Heres another effort from myself, needs a proper mixdown and some hat rhythms and risers putting into it, thoughts so far though?

I'm not really sure what to make of this feedback :P But I've cut out that high pitched semi-gated synth in the first half of the song. I'm gunna try to replace it with more subtle elements instead.

@spencerdubbin - that track is alright, but imo the creativity went out the window when you dropped that bassline. It's also lacking a lot of weight - a big gap between your sub and that mid-range, makes it feel empty. Snare is right on point though, as is the rest of the percussion. Kick maybe a -tad- too loud. I would advise giving a little more critique/feedback than your previous post, btw. Appreciate it, but its not really what this thread is for.
@jsisreal - happens a lot. People too focused, they just miss shit - including my previous post - which gave more feedback/actual critique than most responses on this thread. People just want praise I guess :P I actually commented on yours, so stfu :P See my previous post.
@naw - really like that suspense-driven stabbing synth that carries on from the intro into the drop. Overall not bad synthesis, mid-range gets a bit too much for me, too high-pitched, makes it very hard to listen to. Try making a cut at 4.5khz, dropping it by at least 5db. Also really like that string synth at the breakdown. Really nice progressive feel to it (I love prog shit :))
@itsk - was awesome until the bassline. Some tracks just don't fit a drop like that, especially with that kind of intro (which is genuinely creative and nice to listen to). That pad is awesome.

Second attempt. lol

@amphibian i love the melodies and diverse synths you used :i: , only thing i would probably change ( its also a personal prefrence thing) i would turn the melodies and pads a bit lower (maybe half the volume of the kick) i would also boost that sub up a bit...other then that it sounds great ! :4:

@zonetrooper5
track starts off nice, a mixdown definitly will make it sound nicer ;-) i just dont think the intro flowwwws into the first verse, maybe a bit of delay and reverb will help it sink in. i love the rhythm of it as well

@Pony_Boy
:-D AWESOME! lol really this is great ! big thumbs up! :W: :W: and i wouldnt worry about the long intro, :a: i dont think dubstep has to be 32 bars personally( :z: ???)...its music, you do what feels right and this is awesome sauce! you get a follower on soundcloud :-) :corndance: :corndance: :corndance:

@Ponyboy - You can tell it's gonna be heavy from the start,i fuckin loved it. You should be signed. I can't provide any criticism to something like that.

@itsk- look at the wave, turn some shit down bro.

@basstest - sub bass is nice, would like to hear a bit more mid/top end tho.

my stuff is horrible as im still learning the ropes... and this is even worse cos i stopped doing anything for a few months then came back and switched from reason to ableton so me and my mate would be on the same platform because he's actually decent and can help me out with ableton unlike reason. Any advice would be appreciated... flame me praise me idc as long as i get something constructive. ta

@TheBassTest- this isnt really my style to start with, but im not gonna be biased. production wise, it needs quite a bit of work. mostly the mid range kind/sub kind of drowns everything out. those are some nice pounding snares you got going on in the background, but thats just it- they're in the background. tone down your bass a bit, bring the drums forward.

Itsk- same here, sort of. your track is quite a bit clearer, but the mid range still overwhelms everything else. I cant really hear alot of sub, but maybe thats just me? Once again, nice drums, it sounds like you got alot going on percussion wise, but I can't really hear it, turn everything down a bit and work on your mix.

Ponyboy- I really like this, I know it's already been said but it's a good good track. good progression, I'm loving the way you've put this together, maybe it's just my taste, or my sounds but the midrange seems a bit loud once again? good track though man ^_^ big up

here's mine, it's obviously a work in progress, so any tips on improvement would be awesome. cheers guys.

Sorry guys, too early for me… Will update this post soon

@budsteq: I like what's going on there. Quite good mix actually. Personally I think the biggest problem that it gets a little long-winded. Maybe just shorten all the parts, feels like nothing happens at all between 1:00-3:00. The wobble's great, think you should use it more, but that's just me.

@TheBassTest: Nice! Maybe the wobble is a bit too loud, feels like it drowns everything else. Otherwise, I'd say you add a little more action and variation to the drums. Overall, I like the feel!

@FluidMoshun: WTF! Love what you're doing. I'd say that the top range is a little to high and in some sense it feels more like two tracks than one? I don't know. Great shit anyway.
