I was sat on the train on the opening day and heard these two girls having the most bullshit conversation about the olympics.

Girl1: what's the difference between the UK and Great Britain anway
Girl2: The UK is just LONDON, Wales and like... Scotland... GB is all that plus England and Ireland.

G1: How do teams get into the olympics
G2: It's about how much money you have, they only let you play if you're rich

G2:My dad was gonna be in the olympics twice, but there was a boycott as it was in Russia. And the second time he missed qualification by 1 point (a direct contradiction to her theory of financial qualification...). He was in wrestling or something

G2: In Beijing Scotland competed independently of Britain because of conflict.
