This is pissing me off. I cant find series 2 on the internet anywheres (apart from youku, which took 5 hours to load up one episode), and I dont want to buy it (25 quid?!) because I heard the second isnt as good as the first.
First time I watched Season 2 I was disappointed, but second time round realised its absolutely brilliant. My mate nearly lost his job for HBO after trying to recreate the whiskey/beer thing for 5 hours at a meet and greet...
God, just realised I'm still in mourning for this show. Have been taking refuge in Homicide as a replacement!

jackie aprile jr hides out at omar's after he hits up the card game, before he gets shot by vito
bodie has a blink and you miss it part, he's one of two black guys helping out brendan filone when they hijack a truck in series 1, it's bodie who drops his gun and kills the driver...

I had the same thing - Series 2 is so much better watching it second time round, also makes a lot more sense in the context of The Wire as a whole
Just finished Series 5 on Monday - I dunno what the fuck to do with myself now?!

Buy it! It's worth every penny... I'm ridiculously tight when it comes to buying DVDs etc but I'm really really glad I bought this. You will watch it again and again
