just finished watching season 5. when it all came to an end i nearly shed a tear. definitely my favourite series.
i thought that season 5 was good, season 2 was the weakest imo.

season2 is possibly the most important, it contains the most powerful character in the whole thing and shows how everything that happens in baltimore links to the rest of the world. takes it from being just about baltimore to much more than that.

On the first watch through, Season 2 is probably one of the worst. But on repeat viewings, it's probably the best.

Weirdly, the only character who stays alive and maintains his integrity throughout is probably Slim Charles.
yeah, not surprising to see slim as top dog dealing with the greeks at the end.

first two seasons were my favourite, but its a great show all round. so many memorable characters and scenes

the scene where avon dodges daniels and the other detectives after the east v west game in season one is one of the best for me

I watched season one years ago and thought it was amazing, started season 2 and wasn't feeling it.

went back last year and rinsed 2-5 in a few weeks. So glad I did. Season 2 is my favourite, although Hamsterdam is my favourite storyline.
what is of value and wisdom for one man seems nonsense to another.

It's been years since I've seen it,
and I'll just admit I didn't read the previous 14 pages.
Just would like to express my love for some well written TV. Don't really watch much TV these days.
more Anime and cool movies.
I've enjoyed the sorpranos & 6 feet under, too, but the wire takes the cake.

want to watch that spike lee doc on Katrina though, It was playing @ the video show,
PRETTY FUCKED.

Haven't watched a single episode of this.
Might be worth starting at some point.

most well written series i've ever had the privilege of watching & i'm only starting season 3.
i can't even imagine the levels of genius required to conjure up a storyline this complex as a writer...
my favorite part is that they never seem to forget about characters & interweave them even when it seems insignificant to do so - they only let a character die when someone shoots em :h:
omar is probably my favorite character on television, ever.

If can you can, get ahold of his book "Homicide - A Year On The Killing Streets"...it's fucking meaty but the interweaving is next level.

they worked as police journalists, their stories are taken from years and years of real life experience

the characters in some cases are based on real people too

its an incredible series, absolutely love it
