cheers dididub! only just seen that tune you posted, sounding nice but i think i probably agree the lead's a bit too far back in the mix. a shitload of distortion on the drums might be nice too (though i'm a bit obsessed with doing that atm lol)

jay quite like that but i feel it would be a lot better slowed down a bit so it had more groove to it. also more offbeat percussion would be good, for the same reason really. more variation in the drums too maybe. would be nice if that growly synth were in it more too i reckon

nice moody atmosphere.

wonder what it would sound like with a bit of sidechaining on the kick w/ the melody.

this is nice, not so keen on the snare sound though. could do with an eq cut at the lower mids and maybe another more punchy sample on top (i'm not very good at technical speak lol)
a longer reverb tail on the wobs might be nice too but i always put too much reverb on things so i duno aha
agree with the snare, something snappier on top and less low end, love the chord

sidechaining is a kind of compression you can place upon any layer or stem of your piece of music, and you can "chain" the compression to another layer which can cancel out conflicting frequencies. if you use a high amount of sidechaining compression on say, your kicks, it makes them sound almost "vaccumesque". it always reminds me of late dilla stuff, flylo, and lone.

Jazzman- i like it but it feels kinda empty. maybe try sprucing up the drums as they seem a bit too clean

yeah know what you mean ehbes, it is a bit empty

I'm liking the ambient thing, it'd be better if it wasnt ambient though cos with a nicely compressed beat you could even get hunneys with that
