A somewhat serious troll question; but isn't the divide created by people who are more into "brostep". Ive checked many videos (always curious and always click, even if I know what is coming -one never knows if it's a gem, never was a gem but hey-) and always read some yt comments. Now I may conclude the majority (of the people) checks dubstep through youtube (well soundcloud maybe but don't think so tbh) at every one of these "dubstep" videos or chillstep or melodic etc I always read comments like;

(chillstep random.... - step you know the deal).
So hindsight speaking, wouldn't we've been better off to divide into 2 big genres with no subdivision (in "ours" ;D)

Do bare in mind, I absolutely dispise limits to a genre, I even despise genres because I like it all except texas hobo singing shit, and I was never nor will I ever be for a split.
