The problem is not what's "real" the problem is that the skrillex style dubstep is shit. I'm not narrow minded I just don't like absolute shallow bandwaggoning toss.

Anyway if you were to say it's not real dubstep that still makes sense. It's barely dubstep. I can't hear any of it myself. For me it's further removed from what dubstep is than dubstep is to garage. I mean most people would say dubstep is separate from garage, but say you take Martyn's Everything About You. It sounds more like garage than Skrillex sounds like dubstep to me personally but is still not considered to be a pure garage track and is named as dubstep instead. So yeah if dubstep can sound garagey but be considered a seperate thing from garage why does the brostep crap that only very remotely sounds like dubstep still count as dubstep?

Take the cat analogy. Say you cut the cats head and legs and tail off and and super glued on a dog's head and legs. Would that still be a cat?

the vid is stupid and ill informed and so are you

its not about people clinging to one sound but clinging to whats got longevity, credibility and also clinging to what was once a scene not populated by idiots that make videos on youtube but kept alive at a grassroots local level

the early sound of dubstep was filled with possibilities and evolutions in a variety of different directions

ukg influenced, breakstep, half step then techno influenced music emerged

the yoi yoi yoi/tear out/jump up midrange crap had already been done in dnb at 170bpm and run that genre into the ground (artistically)

its no evolution to make something else the lowest common denominator genre of choice for posh white kids that live in woldingham that would have found the original authentic flavoursome sound to be too chavvy or too listened to by black people

i know this wont sink in but i thought id waste some time trying to explain it to you

Hahaha nah! Personally I don't give a fuck, but if those people do get the fuck over themselves, they can experience so much more wonderful music! :) Benefits them in the end. Meanwhile theres me and millions of others with open minds raking all dat naice music in :)

So i'm guessing you are a... dubstep... critic? :u:
Nope.....I like all music that is good. Shit music can fuck off tho.
So you like all music then? Every single bit, of every single style of music? There is not anything that you dislike and think is shit??

Actually there seems to be a few things you dislike, namely people that dislike brostep and cats.

It's ok OP. The majority of people on here ignore the brostep stuff out there. The people arguing back and forth on YouTube videos are immature 14 year olds. We just want to talk about music we like. What actually annoys us is when people come on here and tell us to be more open minded when it's all just opinion. I'll hazard a guess and say that the average user on here has broader music tastes than your average UKF forum user. Can you leave us alone now?

Yes, but it's a cat that is being abused and mistreated by it's owner.

Again, another poor analogy.
Well, then, it's still a fookin' cat regardless isn't it. :P

Which you've mistreated.

The argument isn't the actuality of the thing, it's what is done to the thing that may be interpreted as abuse.
