Re: Outlook Festival
Incredible. Felt like I've really been a part of something special...
Weather was amazing, the beaches were beautiful. There was live music there from 12-8 each day, stand outs for me were Broken £nglish, really cool varied set. The fort itself just felt so surreal, trying to avoid tree stumps and rocks whilst raving. Loved the gladiators pit and dungeons, they were small and intimate, and saw some of my favourite sets in there from the likes of Synkro and Funtcase.
The main arena was incredible, I've never even been to a proper festival in this country, but this was like a proper one. Joker, N-Type and Nero all together there was a highlight, although as Nero was on last only caught a bit as I was dead. You could even go up top and look down on everyone raving, amazing views. I did this on the final night for Skream and Hatcha as I didn't wanna get too slaughtered as I had to leave my apartment quite early! Caught some of Roots Manuva there which was good, unfortunately Mary Anne Hobs never turned up
there were a lot of sets from people I didn't know that I need to go find out more about! Really diverse music, even though it was obviously mainly a dubstep festival. Must say I have a new love for reggae I was really getting down to that shit.
Took a few pictures/videos must upload some for anyone interested. Oh well, back to reality now and I've caught a bug or something as I'm fucking ill

Re: Outlook Festival
Yeah was amazing. I agree on Synkro and FuntCase in the dugeon was amazing...especially everyone singing Sexual Healing when the power cut during Synkro, the vibes were next level in there. If it wasn't the heat, it would of been my favourite arena.
Also; the reason why your ill is cause of all the dust. My throat is destroyed as is a number of items of clothing. Still, going next year without a doubt.

Re: Outlook Festival
I cant believe I couldn't get in to see DMZ. Fully gutted.

Re: Outlook Festival
yeah cue got massive, i was in there early to see Walsh and then went to leave to get some tokens and realised i'd probably miss DMZ!! so i stayed for.......5 hours. fully sober. Still, it was worth it. Pinchs set was sick too. Loefahs set was propper shit, he plays house music now? wtfapmje wrote:I cant believe I couldn't get in to see DMZ. Fully gutted.
Re: Outlook Festival
Yeah man, luckily I saw Pinch on Tectonic boat party so wasn't that arsed. Wish I came down earlier but came for 12 to see Kryptic Minds and couldn't get in, I was like noooooooooo! So got off my nut and finally got in for Hatcha (which also had Skream playing) and Quest/Silkie/Chef. Caught KOAN Sound though in the ballroom...man they destroyed that room. Turned out to be a great night.lewk wrote:yeah cue got massive, i was in there early to see Walsh and then went to leave to get some tokens and realised i'd probably miss DMZ!! so i stayed for.......5 hours. fully sober. Re: Outlook Festival
Had a pretty good time, all in. It was definitely a big step up from last year. Vibes were more like the first year as there was more variation in music and crowd. Felt like a proper festival.
To be perfectly honest, while most of the dubstep was quite good, I think I found the dub(?) acts most enjoyable of all. Highlight of the festival for me was Mungo's soundsystem, not any artist in particular. Although everyone who played in the Ballroom on the first night (T_!, Dubloke and friends, Moxie and something) were pretty sweet. That was the only night I stayed up till it shut.
The one disappointment for me was the Deep Medi Boat
Will do a more detailed write-up later, hopefully with some pics and vids. Just arrived in the US for work straight from the festival, developed a cold the moment I entered Heathrow Terminal 5. Utterly monged out now. Lecture to give tomorrow morning. Joy.
