I like the first version, even though that kind of thing isnt really my thing. I think it kind of sounds a bit like this when it kicks in:

I do think the kick should be bigger though, louder, hit harder. The bassline coming in just drowns it.

Not really too keen on the VIP myself.

Dunno what to chip in with other than that like, yeah the first one is a bit standard house or whatever, but I like it lol

I really like the original too. Its got a really authentic vibe off it. I dont know if the background loop / music was a sample or something you made, but everything is spot on. I agree that the bass is a little too much. Apart from that, its wicked.

The vip version is cool. Some really nice ideas in it - but it sounds a little too dry or clean to me. The claps / snares sound out of place and the hats sound out of place too. Its like the different elements all belong to different tracks.. if that makes any sense. However, if you managed to make them gel better - y'd have a decent tune at the end of it. I like the direction, although there probably isnt as much energy in it as the original. We were spoiled getting to hear that first I think haha. I really like it. You should definitely keep at it & refine these processes. I like how you are approaching it.

On what kind of system is the original mixed?
Thought these headphones were quite flat, but it's sounds way off for some reason.

Vip sounds like it's mixed completely different.

The bass doesnt sit in the mix quite properly, i dont know how exactly but needs some tweaking. Besides that the idea is quite cool, you should definitely finish it.

I just mixed the original on headphones, it should also be noted that I was steaming drunk when I made it, I just upped it to see if it was worth continuing with haha. The VIP is mixed completely differently because I wanted it to sound really messy, if that makes sense? So it sounds like it was made in my garden shed or something.

Good job for not blowing up the mix completely if you were wasted then, i tend to do that quite often. 'mmmmyeah lets crank some limiters/ maximizers on all drum and all bass channels'.
