Saw a review calling it the most mature piece of music theyve made...
I thought it was boring as. Also cheesy vocoders are cheesy (as mentioned) also the drums are boring and it sounds like it say rub a mexican monkey in the chorus when its meant to be saying up all night to get lucky or w.e. The worst thing is everyone seems to be pretending to have been life long daft punk fans and shit. its just like when Whitney Houston died.

I think in this instance we can say that that is just plain wrong
how can you not like it??
I first heard vex'd drop the original and remix out at an event called yardcore in 2005 and it was amazing, also heard the remix of fallen way before it came out

does anything now even come close to the personality of that era?
I don't think so...the militant eqing of current dubstep/house/"techno" just means it's always going to be more clinical, you couldnt make toasty or vex'd tunes using the same set of rules everyone is following

even malas most recent tracks havent got the personality his earlier tracks had.. possibly even burials.
most music i hear nowadays lacks that raw edge.. but yeh i agree with you totally
even take early grime for example

Give it a few years people will be saying the same thing and how its not as good as 2012/2013 was. Goes in circles. The purple sound is due a comeback sometime soon.
Might not be as good as back then but lacking the raw edge is a bit of a put down, music is in a good place atm imo.
