Nice one. thanks man... didn't know they used Ableton. Plus for me since that's what i'm using atm.
I've been listening to these cats for a long time in the DnB scene before they went on to dubstep projects.

[quote="Know_One"I do like some OG deep style dubstep of course, but I’m looking for something heavier.[/quote]

There is none heavier, lad.

There is angrier, stupider, noisier, but none heavier.

yo having trouble installing plugins, getting files marked .7z, unzipping them and only getting .dll files, when i put them into my plugins folder they don't appear even after rescanning, seems like there should be an installation file that isn't popping up

In all honesty, I've never seen any software company use 7 zip, or .7z to compress their files. You've probably just installed a virus that will launch attacks on the US State Department, ultimately resulting in nuclear war between the UK and US. Good jorb.

Naw. If they don't have an installer, and they're just a dll, they're probably fairly down on the down low, they may just not work in ableton. The vst format is not totally standardized. Best thing is ask the ableton forums specifically about the software you're trying to use.

whats heavier... a pound of bricks, or a pound of feathers? lol

if heavier means more sub, then i guess none is heavier... maybe except a bass test CD for car audio system competitions. Heavy in many areas typically means harder, darker, eviler as well. so by heavier, i meant more Marty McFly, less elevator music, but still chest crushing sub.

although realistically, the Brown Note would be the heaviest of them all. It would leave everyone it touched a little more bottom heavy.

I think the best way for you to start making it is to just open your DAW and get at it. Everyone writes tunes in different ways, do what's comfortable for you.

Distance has some decent tutorials youtube for this kinda sound.

I was looking for that Kryptic Minds masterclass video, couldn't find it, but this came up during my search, seems like it would be helpful to watch:

I would like to urge you to learn from this 'sound' but try to make it your own, don't just try to replicate whats out there. Have fun with it!

prob has the best info on making a reese.

But dont start making dungeon its deadout

If your over shitty brostep but want heavy make dubstep (/ breakstep) like this its bound to make a comeback (cus its fucking good)

Nice man, i'll check out the video this Friday when all the crazy family xmas stuff is done with. I know how to make a reese and all since i've been into DnB & Jungle forever... but i can always use and enjoy a new twist on a old sound.

To be honest, i'm not sure exactly what kinda Dubstep i wanna make right now... i know what sound i'm liking though. I just need to start making a bunch of samples, though them in a folder, and get some time to get down with a few tunes.

Hi everyone I have some questions not nessecarily related to production but to djing and production etiquette.

1) Is it bad if I pitch up a song by a half an octave while speeding it up 6% just so it can match the pitch and tempo of another song?
2) Some kid on a Facebook group released a wip video with an internet sample. I like the sample and I emailed him to ask if I could make a remix. I didn't get a reply and the message didn't get read... Anyway I decided to make a song using the same sample and I fear that it would be rude if I posted my song on the board while the other person is working on theirs.

safe beautiful people. how much does it matter if these little meters are clipping but the main volume one's not even close to doing so

this is something i've noticed sounds ok if creating a distorted mid bass, or tweaking drums but usually unpleasant buzzing with sub

Image

and more generally, quite often get slight but unpleasant nasty overtones from trying to thicken up sub lines when they're a long way from clipping, after a really powerful but smooth sound, especially when using 808 kicks, saturation etc makes them buzz a long way from the desired result,

a question of resampling again and again, applying the effects really subtly each time?
