Most of the whinging on here is the same 5 or so guys tho (your post counts indicate the length of your beards) so its hardly a reflection of whats going on in the real world - they'd like the new styles of dubstep to be dying but in reality they're becoming ever more popular. I'm not denying theres tons of extremely retarded and depressingly popular music labelled "dubstep" (its got a snare on the 3rd beat!) that doesn't sound anything like early Mystikz/Loefah/Skream (although not a million miles from Caspa & Rusko who remember have been around since day 1) which got me into this scene and I don't like chavs either but I'm getting more depressed reading these whinging threads than hearing the spazzy crap now. At least Bongores music makes me laugh (even if it is waste) which is more than I can say about most of the crappy jokes I've seen on here since the word brostep was invented.

Not relevant to this thread but I'm bored and all this talk about moaning has made me want to have a moan about some other stuff which has been bugging me for ages now - I could waffle on like a twat all fucking day but ill stick to 6 points:

To those who whinge about DNB producers jumping on the bangwagon: Newsflash - Caspa & Rusko didn't invent the wobble it was around way b4 that which is why no DNB producer feels the slightest bit of guilt about rinsing that sound out as it was theirs to start with

To those who send mp3s that are mixed down at <0db STOP BEING A SHEEP! Theres no point having them that quiet mp3s are not good to cut from so don't be scared of "the red" get those mp3s loud but not overcooked. If you want someone to cut your tune a 24/32bit WAV at <-6db peak will give you best results provided the cutting engineer is mastering the tune and doesn't fuk it up at the last hurdle

To those who like every single tune one label puts out no matter how shit it is - learn to spot when the emporer isn't wearing his clothes! Its pathetic when ppl are into music more for the "image" associated with that kind of music than the actual content of the music, you are a fake ass fool - those of you who label everything with a midrange bass crap irrespective of how good the tune actually is this could mean you! Its like teenage girls liking a boyband because they fancy the lead singer even though the musics shit - shame on you ppl your ruining dubstep!! I'm not saying your favorite label isn't good but its likely they've put out a few turkeys most labels have so recognise when that is the case

To ppl who mix wall to wall bangers without keymatching - the only thing more annoying than your shit mixing is the fact most of the audience don't even seem to notice there is a problem (if only they had the slightest hint of musical knowledge!)

To producers with dischords in their music - learn to play the fucking piano or something, your supposed to be writing music so whats wrong with a little bit of musical knowledge if only a few chords and scales? The only thing more annoying than listening to your dodgy music is the fact that too many of the audience don't even seem to notice there is a problem especially if its their favourite "Big Label" which can do no wrong

Anyway, I know out in the real world you dont see this much bitching but I come onto dubstep forum to read discussions on music and get info on new things (and also to learn about things i've missed). I don't want to have to scroll through hundred of posts and threads about the same rinsed point which then just turns into arguing. Also people who seem to think they know how the scene is going to go or who think their opinion is final just make me cringe.

I've never seen this kinda of attitude displayed at dubstep nights, everyone is there for the music and to enjoy themselves. Why can't it be like that on a forum?

I've also seen less and less of the scenes more famous people post on here (probably because of all the anger) which upsets me because they used to always share info about releases and nights coming up in the future.

True, I just stick to either the production or snh forums, and occasionally drop by the main to read some of the threads for a laugh . Just got to accept there'll be people like that as such a diverse genre grows i guess. People will be pouring in from the ravey aspect of it and will provoke the "we were here first" response from the others. Admittedly i'm not the biggest fan of some of Rusko's latest work but still very much have alot of respect for him as an artist and for what he's done for the genre over the past years. Even now i could sit behind a laptop and judge a midrangey wobble track as pop-like but it'd most likely go down hard in a club. I'm definitely guilty of getting snobby with it on occasion when i come across people who think dubstep is Chase & Status and Caspa as i'm more into the older, atmospheric, chilled, and proper dubby stuff but i still enjoy all styles really with the odd exception or two. Nothing pisses me off more than reading a "you listen to Burial you depressing bore/you jumped wobble on the bandwagon" conflict, when i first started getting into dubstep it was about image-free musical open mindedness and diversity... does seem like the open mindedness has diminish somewhat on here lately .

I actually thought that was quite an interesting set of comments =) I'm a keyboard player myself / humble music lover (rather than DJ/producer) but IMHO there are many producers out there writing very musically sound and interesting dubstep (Mr Sparx included) - which I'm really appreciating. I had wondered a number of times about how good DJs pick tracks to mix over / into - glad to hear key matching is important - will have to read up more on this subject =)

Dubstep Forum is still a great place to learn about music and dubstep = I've got multiple threads open that I'm going through (Production Bible = WIN). Big Ups to all the thoughtful posters and the real musios out there for sticking around.
