Re: The artwork thread ...NSFW
Alright lads
Long time! Great work on here good to see everything is still ticking. Got a bit more spare time these days, thought I'd come share some art at this dingy end of the internet. Where to start... I made so much. Will begin with some of the portraits
Hope you've kept your hoods and gun fingers up over the last year

Acrylic paint on 20" x 16" canvas

Chalk

Albert Hoffman

Turd apple guy, oil paint

30" Monotone Oil painted John Lennon

Sharpie Elizabeth (babe) Taylor

Watercolour Thom Yorke

Acrylic Thugs

Dawn of the Dead screenshot recreated by hand in pencil and chalk

Statue... Pencil + Indigo aquatone crayon thing

Penn and Tellar work in progress... Acrylic, pencil,
Bonus

Nice one chaps for the warm re-welcoming! Cheers for the compliments, most appreciated.
Currently in 4 weeks of limbo before moving again, could actually do some painting work if anyone is interested (put in a request AxeD!) Can work from any image onto paper or canvas in a range o' styles. Ninja's discount. UK based, could post worldwide though. /sales
d-T-r you still on the monolith hunting? Tried to climb a few. Harder than it looks, though I wonder what prize it holds.
Up for getting back into making some tunes... Way too rusty. Not even sure where to start...
Anyway what happened with this place? *What happened with dubstep!?*
Few more pics seeing as it's the art place

Pen + Pencil (paper)

Watercolour on canvas

Chalk

Crayon, charcoal + pencil. A3 paper (from the walking dead when some scrote perishes)

Chalk/Charcoal. Thinking of using one teal chalk for selective colouring.

Work in Progress, various

Pencil + Aquatone crayon colour

Mo' acrylic
BONUS

Hi everyone, I've posted 11 of my photo's on my webblog, please check them out and let me know if they're any good. I'm not entirely sure. I usually end up taking photo's of completely normal things and feel uncertain if they mean anything at all.
http://submeditation.wordpress.com/photography/
Is the place to have a look.
I haven't watermarked them, but please do not use them without my permission (if one should ever want that, that is to say).

First new piece i've made in a long long time.
Still lots of tweaks and finishing touches to do to it but i'm happy with it so far

if only i had more Ram and hd space i could animate it!

Re: The artwork thread ...NSFW
Friend's portrait, work in progress. Erm... should really finish it, as it was supposed to be a farewell gift and they moved out last summer

Various event photos I've taken for my blog. Supposed to be grainy, but shitty facebook compression has made the whites look a bit wafty too

nice painting ch3 - already looking good as it is even if it isn't finished. Nice photos too arktrix + wubstep, and decent vid as always incnicz11. always a nice approach and finish to your vids.
And cheers Kay- maybe i'll at least get all of the layers copied over into after effects to get some movement going. will only be able to render tiny videos if i want to watch it back though until more space/memory but that's better than nothing.

Aye grand stuff! d-T-r what process do you use to generate that kind o art?
Shame this thread isn't as thriving as it used to be. Will upload some more stuff tonight when camera charged. Going to try doing some wood-burning art today

Re: The artwork thread ...NSFW
the black and white stuff is all hand drawn with black fine-liners and then scanned in. then i added some other drawings i've done that didn't look great on their own but could work coherently in that one.BLAHBLAHJAH wrote:Aye grand stuff! d-T-r what process do you use to generate that kind o art?
then after that , it's just shit loads of photoshop layering with both my own, and sourced photos of textures (stars,nebulas,Andromeda,milky-way ,eyeball iris' ,sea/coral creatures, temple walls etc can all be found in there)
the lower back ground was originally going to be in focus but it didn't work so well so i made it blurry. the grid thing was made in after effects ,exported as a layer and then skewed around to fit the rest of the picture.
and as far as inspiration to make it, you can probably guess

Yeah get any thing up once it's ready. Looking forward to seeing how the wood burning stuff turns out too.BLAHBLAHJAH wrote: Shame this thread isn't as thriving as it used to be. Will upload some more stuff tonight when camera charged. Going to try doing some wood-burning art today

I did make my own thread, but someone else told me to post them here. http://www.dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.p ... 1#p2852111
As a part of my final year university project I am re-designing and branding a well known netlabel. For those who don't know what a netlabel is, it basically distributes free music licensed as creative commons through the internet. I thought it would be interesting to take music which is usually digital, and transform it into a vinyl format, creating new artwork and branding, catering to a different target audience.
As the music is often free, the challenge is to make the artwork desirable enough so people actually buy the records, so I would like some feedback on what you like (or don't). I know there are a lot of vinyl heads on this forum, and sometimes in a shop you listen to a record just because it has interesting artwork. So yeah, let me know what you think. Thanks!

My new artwork.
http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/ ... inal_o.jpg
The original artwork.
Some of the images may seem fairly random, but they are all related to the music or name of the record.
For example:
'Collecting Dust EP' is made up of images of dust and hair which I created from scanning the contents of a hoover bag.
'Furztrocken EP' was created from folded bed sheets which were photographed in a way that they looked like sand dunes (Furztrocken means dry as dust, bone dry etc.)
The symbols of 'Hello LP' are the hand signs used to spell the word hello in sign language.
'Jupiter Tales LP' was created from scanning foil and reflective fibres to give an effect which looks similar to the patterned surface of jupiter.
I tried lots of different experimental techniques to create the artwork, since the music is very creative, experimental and original.
