I also went to the Inc. show last night.

He was meant to be supporting them, when he didn't come on before them I left, assuming he had been his usual handle self.

Then heard he came on AFTER them, wouldn't be surprised at all of this was some ego-boost "I'm headlining move"

Sounds like I didn't miss much though, 20 minute set?!

Oh and I was there with my mate who's a promoter, I was saying how he's known for being like that and my friend said that he would probably get more bookings because people will assume he's so good he can do what he wants. Depressing really but I guess the guy knows what he's doing to market himself

Would only really be true for the more hipster venues.

He gets gigs because he is a good producer, makes cool tunes that people want to hear him play out. Personally i have never gone to see him, would be willing to pay some decent money to go see him if he would for sure turn up and put some effort in.

I know quite a few promoters who now refuse to book him after acting like a spoiled brat.

to be honest though, at this point that shit is basically to be expected. when you pay to see him, you do that knowing there's a fair chance he'll act like this. a lot like DOOM.

everyday i feel more grateful for seeing this guy when I did. His set was decent even if i was off my nut. Selection was boss and was really feeling the grime that night and the hip hop.

I think Hudson Mohawke being on before him really got me in the mood to and vibe was live before he came on and with him being on last you basically knew the crowd who was left standing were either really into Zomby or was just fuckin mashed and looking to carry on til the early hours. Aphex was on that bill too so it was a bit of an obscure night all round but I guess thinking about it if you have Aphex on the bill (Zomby's bumchum) then hes gonna show seeing as he think himself and aphex are the alpha and omega between them.

It just makes no sense to me. He produces great music, he has a good taste in track selection... why just pre-mix a set and then press play on the night? Not sure if that's some petulant bratty 'statement' or if he is just completely bored with DJ'ing.

Obviously he doesn't have to worry about not getting booked because if half the shit he spouts is true then obviously he is from a wealthy background, he doesn't have to work for shit.

Totally agree man, it's just the fact that it's got to this point is why he's not worth a big up IMO.

When your name is synonymous with being a jerk off to people that are paying good money to see you/buy your releases, you get no big ups from me

Yer was a good night. TBH im not a huge lover of Aphex so the plan was really to just get fuckin mashed and get taken on a journey. Place was fucking heaving tho for Aphex was horrible where we were stood so we went to the back and kinda just took it in a bit. Thankfully the place kinda emptied after Aphex (that older crowd trying to relive their youth of weird)

Took some MD and it took like 4 hours to even hit me or any of my friends.Went out for cig half way thru hudmos set, came back in and i was pretty much levelled. Hudmo brought it down. CBAT was fucking insane the whole place just got abstract for minute when that dropped. There was a lot of shit about Zomby before the night tho how he was pissed he was on last and shit and it was gettin to a point where we were convinced he wasn't gonna show and then i was just gettin down and my mate saw the mask and was fucking hyped. Brought me to some mad high. Played a few off the album to begin with then just brought the jungle and grime and hip hop. Was a real session that one!
