Our people from the region don't need western kids misrepresenting the culture just because they're brown. I'm not even Pakistani but learned (a fair amount) of Urdu as an attempt to educate myself and get to know people in the region when I visited.

I do rep my ancestry quite proudly, I've been called a "Mongrel Paki bastard" quite a few times, I don't care what they say, Im multi-cultural, and that actually helps with socialising with other people, My family are from Rawalpindi, Muree (correct me if I'm wrong in spelling it) to be exact. I even talk to a Muslim teacher about current affairs and other things going in Pakistan.

But yes as I said I attempted to learn Urdu, but I found it difficult, needing to adjust, and the complicated lettering.

Also, in the listing of countries I am descended from, I forgot to include Japan. Found out a few weeks ago. Quite shocked (not in a race-wise way), still taking that bit in to be honest.
