Help me make the sound like the synth that the artist Gemini uses in most of his songs, you know, like a pulsing synth?
I've asked this before, everyone says "sidechaining" like it's obvious...I'm pretty sure I have a basic idea of what sidechaining is, but I don't understand how just straight up "sidechaining" will get me that sound...
An in-depth answer from someone who has a mo would be MUCH appreciated
Thanks
Mute the trigger (f.ex a kick) so you don't hear it, only the effect (the compression). Play around with when you want it
to come in etc.
Sidechaining is when you set up a separate track, for instance one playing a kick rhythm, and then you set your compression on your synth to sidechain through that track, which means whenever the kick on the other track is
triggering copmression on your synth which gives a pumping and slow attack type sound. For the actual bass, a simple electro type saw with some distortion layered with a sub and something with high end, such as strings will sound nice![]()
hope this helps better
So I use Logic...I should just basically set up a kick to the rhythm that I want the synth to be pumping at, then add compression to the synth, then, in the compression I select send to kick?
Sorry if this is an experience similar to teaching an kindergartener, I usually don't have half this much trouble with a concept...I feel like I ALMOST got it
Hope this helps you understand
