WELCOME BACK
Good question Christine, I'm waiting eagerly for Burials DJ Kicks mix too. Can any one answer me this, I've seen vinyl copys of some of the DJ kicks editions. Are they unmixed ? Or is that just some fantasy I've cooked up in my feeble little brain?

You didn't mention it, but I presume it was you that took the site down the other day......dubway wrote:where did i mention that i want to destroy it or sell it?futures_untold wrote: To destroy it would be a sad day for the global dubstep scene.....![]()
Yes your well within your right to do so, but the point still remains,
If you took it down because your tired of moderating etc etc, then surely it would be better to sell it than to simply kill it off?futures_untold wrote: To destroy it would be a sad day for the global dubstep scene.....![]()

I've been skipping through a few pages on this thread about people's reactions and what not. I think alot of people need to realize that the magnitude of this site whether if it be size/popularity/postings/etc has to be moderated each and every day. What does that consist of? money for bandwidth/hosting/space and then TIME when it comes down to filtering out the bullshit spam bots and what not. Nobody makes money off of a forum. Instead its those who own/run the forum that invests so much time and money for pure dedication. I think all of us should be thanking them for a forum like this.
That being said ... lets get to my next point. Dubstep is a sound, a sound does not travel through message boards. It travels through speakers. The first existance of the dubstep community most likely started in someone's basement with a bunch of mates making something different .If your only resource is this forum for finding out the new tunes... So be it... But think of what producers / dj's did back in the 90's and 80's for that matter, how did they get there material out.... Mixtapes??? . We still have various resources whether it it be virb... myspace... etc...
One day this forum will be gone, after all people do want to get on with there live's. What are you going to do then??

This statement is pure idiocy.Surface_Tension wrote:Don't like your job, I don't blame you. Offer it to someone else if it's so bad. Remember, that is YOUR solution for those who don't like the rules or the moderation of this forum... just... ya know.. walk away.
Look - this is a website run by a few people who love the sound for a hell of a lot more other people who (supposedly) love the sound. For free. It is not their job. It is something they do to help the sound spread and develop.
They had no training, there are no three monthly performance reviews, there are no shareholders, there is no mission statement, there is no set holiday allowance.
I think the moderators do a very difficult job very well. Sure, some may disagree with some decisions but that would be the case whenever there are this many people involved.
Take a deep breath and remind yourselves of this before you post any more whining.
Funky Stanton, those are Congas. Bongos are the little ones.
