My mate's been trying to get me into it lately and... I just can't. Any game that requires 20 hours of frustration and confusion before it becomes fun just isn't for me
i've got a good grasp on it now after a couple more sessions, can see myself playing it over and over for ages to come. It's definitely convinced me to go for Europa Universalis 4 as well.
The biggest problem is that this game has some of the greatest depth I have ever seen in a game, but for some reason gives you absolutely no "play along" tutorial or anything similar. Then the UI is just full to the brim with different buttons and informations and there are literally thousands of characters in the world as well.....
I had to watch a couple of let's play videos on youtube to understand everything but now I have just made myself the Duke of Dublin and Leinster and will be working towards conquering the rest of Ireland for my dynasty tonight!
But yeah I can totally see why people wouldn't want to play it.
