Admittedly I was a bit faded post-Bangface, but I really enjoyed it!

Completely disagree. First one was great, was way more of a "period film" compared to the last two, Barbosa was a great character too. If you watch the last two then go back to the first its just such a better film altogether. They got cheesier and cheesier, turning Jack Sparrow from a kinda funny quirky character to completely ridiculous "cash in on the comedy" money maker. In my opinion.

I watched 'District 9' with my Dad earlier. Really enjoyed it. The news reports and documentary / interview footage spliced with the rest of the film was a nice touch. CGI was top notch as well.

It reminded me of 'Children of Men' in places. It's got that same bleak, gritty feel.

The South African setting was a breath of fresh air too. Nods to the apartheid etc.

enjoyed the parts that were story driven but hought that at least an hour and 20 minutes could have been chopped off without affecting the story in any way. definitely worth a watch though. especially if you like gaspar noe.

went to the premier at the broadway in notts, really enjoyed it and the director/writer/effects artist gave a talk after and it was really enjoyable!

How did u watch this out of interest? I used to have it on VHS, but bought it about a year ago on DVD, turned out to be some waste pirate though. Reading up it seems it's never been released on doovd, atleast not PAL anyway.
