Yeah & Dread was sampled from a youtube video.

Be interesting to know the extent to which a label like Medi has to clear stuff/pay out for samples etc

There will be more copies available anyway, surely? Went way too fast for the amount Medi usually press.

Kalawanji / Surgery actually

:/
[+] Spoiler
i couldn't agree more though tbh. panicking over it doesn't help you, but it can create hype (ie, demand) by reminding people about the release and making it seem more "in demand," and then those people might go and post about it somewhere, and the cycle of hype continues. so it could actually decrease your chances of getting the record because you're competing against more people, so it's actually counterproductive imo.

Also from what i've seen recently (only based on redeye though), what many of the labels are doing recently is taking a bunch of pre-orders, closing the pre-order ("sold out") and pressing a batch of records. then they re-open it again on redeye and take a bunch more pre-orders, press those, and just repeat the cycle until they aren't getting enough pre-orders to make it worthwhile. this is really the best way to do it because then the labels don't have to estimate demand before releasing and won't end up with un-bought leftover records, and you also won't end up with ridiculous discogs prices because most everyone who wanted the record will get it.

At least, I've seen this happen recently with System (Mere Sher), Innamind (Uuha, Las x Mikael), and Deep Medi (Over De Soh). And I think Hotline and Lion Charge will probably do this as well, but they're just repressing right now.

lol yeah, I said this a few pages back about abattoir.. I said it'd sell out in one day (it did) and it'd be back, probably not as a preorder but a normal release on the release date (it did).

Confident redeye will have more Gantz weekend/monday when its actually released. I think they must have like a quarter of their stock reserved for the preorder link and the rest go up on or nearer the release date.

Talking of which-where did Cluekid go? He hasn't seemed to have put out anything in ages.

Changes was made in 2004 and released in 2007 but I digress, and plus none of them releases would ever happen anyway, just found some great unreleased meditation dubstep music and put a couple of my dream releases.

I've always wanted to see a Benga release on deep medi musik since 2006. And I don't even know what's happened to Cluekid, my mate messaged him on soundcloud about iding a track but that's about it. One of my favourite producers.
