@jclarkeiv Pretty relaxing, but you might want to put more variation in it, more significant instruments.

@SunShaft No doubt about it, badass. Amazing tune. Might want to put a slight amount of whitenoise into the background.

@Darj Nice and simple! Fun to listen to. Well mastered. Good bass balance. Can't think of any negative feedback for this genre. Its really good.

@Burgeamon My opinion; this is the opposite of repetiveness. Its really good. One comment; you need to put more bass and other instruments in, its pretty plain for dubstep. But fun to listen to.

Okay, my turn. Soundcloud
Its the Katy Perry ET remix. Comments + Suggestions really appreciated! Thanks :D

@sunshaft: Huge track man, I was doubtful of using britney spears, but you made it work
@ lifeofcows: the bass is just a little to distorted for my taste but the talking bass was pretty sweet.
@ Rubikx: the ambient noise at the beginning is awesome? what is it if you dont mind me asking? Bass is dark, I like it.

something I cooked up today, its really just an idea right now, I'm still working on all my previous tracks but I keep getting ideas for new stuff... Also I know I haven't posted a single dubstep track, but I really do appreciate feedback from the members in the production part of the forum, you all seem to have a much better grasp on producing computer music than I.

@Rubikx I like the beat, but the tune itself seems a little bare. Maybe that's what you're going for though, I dunno :P I am listening on laptop speakers :P
@LifeofCows It's sounds good, the only thing i think is around the minute mark all the bass sound a bit muddled, i'd try going for a different sound for the bass but that's me.
@jclarkeiv I like it so far the fx noises are nice B-) Keep going with it, it needs work, but i can see this going somewhere.

Here's mine:

Darj - lol my setup sucks. It includes an old Dell PC and some speakers(not monitors), I do the best I can, which I think is quite good based on that lol. As for your track, I like it a lot. The little synth beeps light it up for me. Drum grooves are really nice. Production seems good too.

Bureamon - Nice track dude, really like the bass. Drums work well. Nice addition with the higher bass at the last part. Only thing I don't like is the intro, it's too much for me, both too long and the fact it just jumps in.

congojack - Nice one man. Samples are nice. Nice bass and synths. Kick could be beefed a bit more, but thats just me. I agree with Darj, a bit more low end would make this more bangin.

E-T-F - Your sure on the right track, good track so far.

Rubikx - Thats fucking banging man. Bass is real nice. Clean drums with nice beats. Quieter non bass parts make it for me dude. Real nice.

AcidRat - Dude that made me smile. It's like cheeky dubstep. Personally I'd prefer a little more beefy drums and distorted bass, but thats me. Good work though dude.

Sup guys, this is my 3rd track in as many days, but I prefer this one so I chose to post it here to try and make it better. I tried some new techniques on the sub and bass, amongst some other stuff. Anyway, any and all feedback is appreciated. Cheers guys.

@LifeOfCows: For me, its was a little bit too much bass in the beginning. Than once it dropped at first I was like ok cool, and than it just got.... too dirty. Almost unlistenable at a certain point. However this may have to do with the style that I like and not your track. Anyway, I say clean it up a little bit it seems like theres too much going on.

@jclarkeiv: Pretty cool. Very dark and eery. Im digging your effects, but I wanna here some more "filth" when you start working on it more. Great start though.

@DJ sampletank: It has a dark but kind of happy feel at the same time. Great start. I want to hear more BASS out of it though. I can feel my sub rumbling at some points which feels awesome but there isn't enough of it.

And heres my track! Thanks guys let me know what I can change. It still needs some mix changes.

@jclarkeiv - not what I expected, strangely nice man.

@AcidRat - it's clean and well mixed down, started out like one of the Streets instrumentals but personally don't understand the wobbles with the rest of the tune, couldn't imagine a situation I would listen to it, if you're not set on making it dubstep I think you could have a pretty sweet tune.

@DJ Sampletank - good vibes, maybe lower the snare a bit. Personally i would make it smoother so the main sound is less grissly but then again that's part of the mood.

@antman - cool sounds, 1.51 is so sick, I would give the kick and snare more power though and definitely getting an intro and a breakdown in the middle to break it up otherwise people will get used to the sounds and it will get hard to dance to.

- Here are two i'm working on atm, don't know if i'm allowed to post two and if i'm not apologies.

Lichee-
On the first one, I am loving your intro man. I think that bass needs an introduction before you lay me with it, loving the vibes and aesthetic after the break a lot, and I think I get what you're going for. I really can't say much, needs more intro. like a lot more, atmosphere was great.
The second one is equally rad, night music already for sure. I think a little reverb on that hat would be nice, keeping your vibe in mind, but then the beat came in and I was like nevermind, I like this, a lot, I can't say much man, at all, nice work. Download perhaps?:D

Sampletank- I am digging the panning, and the atmosphere here, the notes are a little offputting at first and that snare is way too fucking loud, the bass is taking a lot from the rest of your mix, but I dig the concepts, I think you should go more minimal and maybe darker with it, that's just me. Great vocal stems man.

Acidrat, I love the guitar man. sounds dope, the mix needs a little atmosphere, the wubs are cool but I don't know about them, sounds good to me man, needs something, I like where it's going and after the drop, I think the guitar is rad but it doesn't fit, tune feels wayyy darker than that.

easy all here's my first in a while.

A new one, be forgiving but very detailed about the mix, unfortunately I only have access to my headphones which are shit, this is like an hour old, so tell me what's up.

Kes-es: Interesting intro, perhaps the intro is a bit too midrange for me. To be honest, it's not my cup of tea. Production levels are spot on but this genre gets on my nerves a bit, too aggressive. But that is personal preference. Well produced track all the same.

Lichee- the intro to the first track is beautiful, i'd perhaps add a touch of delay to the synth. Love the drop, so clean. Can't wait to hear the finished product.
Second one: Vibes on the intro again!! Creepy things. Love the hi hat, would be interested to know what you layered it with, sounds like a scrape. The bass line is heavy and exciting but, gets a tiny bit repetitive. Big track all the same.

Antman: Layer that kick man, needs more punch. The sub after the first drop needs turning up a bit but it is there after the second vocal sample. Really not a fan of the panning you did on the sub between the first and second use of that vocal sample. From, 'because his weakness is a perfect match' the sub is lush! Could see N-type playing this. big ups.

Sampletank: love the samples! Don' really like the panning on them though. Kick needs some work as it falls a bit flat, as does the snare. Sub is deep. Think it becomes a bit too fuzzy after the drop, not a fan of the reese type thing you have going on there.

Acidrat: get some delay on that guitar. funky. Not sure the drop works though, I lost interest when that wobble came in. Layer it with some weighty sub at the very least.

James Clarke: Really like that you have used a bass guitar for your bass but really not feeling the synth. Overbears on the rest of the track. Think the percussion could do with some work too.

Lifeofcows: I warn you now, I have a bias against this type of music however (in order to keep it constructive): I think Katy Perry remixs are far too cliched. The drop is WAAAAY too messy, sounds really confused and clumsy. Really think that whoever pioneered that aweful YOI sound should be shot, makes a track sound cheap.
Try making something really minimal before jumping into a full on hype track.

Rubicx: Intro is lush. Love the fx, love the instruments and think it leads perfectly to your drop. The drop detracts a tiny bit from the intro imo. Not too keen on the sub but can't quite put my finger on why. I know that isn't very helpful but, I can't decide what it is about the body of the track but there is something putting me off.

Thelostboysarefuckingdead: Interesting track. Not really my thing but well produced all the same.

Darjeelings: Intro has promise. Like the hats. Kick has bounce to it, not sure about the sidestick/rimshot thing though, it cries out for a snare. Sub on the drop is beautiful, really smooth and deep. Got a Kryptic minds vibe about it for sure.

A-chasma: intro seems a bit cliched. Kick needs toning down a lot. Vocals are confusing and don't work. Again, this is not really my cup of tea so I become a bit biased. Think the drop is weak. Too aggressive but, it's all personal taste innit. I guess I just wish more people would make sublow.

henoo: I think a pattern in my criticism has emerged. Not my thing at all affraid mate. The track lacks originality, sounds just like any other circues dr. p type track. Far too formulaic. Think people focus too hard on emulating a certain sound and become too complacent to experiment. Try some experimentation man, don't stick to the tried and tested, it makes a track sound too similar to every other track adhearing to that formula.

Ibscotty: Really like this one, but not sure what I make of the little incidentals throughout. Would prefer it to be a bit more minimal.

Pixelscum: Can you guess what I might say? Sounds too similar too all the other datsik type things. Sub is great though, and you clearly know your stuff when it comes to production, just not to my taste. :)

Righty oh, here's a little something i'm working on. I wrote the track at 111bpm because it is the magic tempo, try it seriously! A lot of fun writing at 111. Not sure what to add/ take away. Do you think vocals would work on this one?

Rubikx: Real interesting track. Deep and dark. I like the intro a lot and it all is real cool. I dig the drum sounds a lot the snare in particular but it feels like theres a bit of lacking in the high end. Since its a WIP I assume this is just a product of the WIP phase and will be taken care of later. All around cool track man I dig it. I would maybe consider doing something different at the second break instead of making it just a longer intro repeated. Not necessarily a different part but maybe add something else or do something to make it sounds different and not like the song is falling back on itself. Cool stuff man!

LifeOfCows: Suupperr dark man. The bass is really garbled and distorted which is a little much for me but for the style I figure its pretty sweet. Its almost haunting haha but its rad man. There seems to be a bit of muddiness going on in the low end with how the percussion interacts with the other instruments. Other than that its a solid track man!

jclarkeiv: Interesting man. Its really wishywashy and has some cool FX going on. Would be interested to see what you turn that into. Definitely needs a bit of growth and variation but its a cool idea!

AcidRat: Smilestep man I agree with Sampletank. Its really interesting. Its honestly pretty cool though. Like its goofy but in a good way. The kick could definitely use some help so it comes out but then again I'm not sure you are going for much beef or punch. If you are though I would definitely suggest fattening especially that wobble. It also feels like it lacks a bit of bass. If you just matched up your sounds with a nice clean sub it would make the song a little smoother. I totally dig this though man. Its goofy as hell but it makes me smile!

DJ Sampletank: Its interesting man. Real slow and the bass is pretty drone like but its cool. The kick doesn't really come through all that much though and you snare cuts a lot so it makes the kick seem even quieter so I would definitely suggest a little work in that department. It could also use a little variation because it feels like a lot of the same for a while. Its pretty cool man, real dark and with the addition of some serious sub bass it could be pretty dense!

antman: Good start man. I would suggest adding a bit more variation in the sounds that you have and maybe in the drum patterns too because its starts sounding repetitive. The idea is cool though. It feels like it lacks some bass and the drums definitely need to come out quite a bit more and be more powerful. I think mostly though just getting a bit more variation in patterning and sounds would really push this track up a lot. Solid start man!

Lichee: Again in both I feel like there are a lot of repeating sounds rhythms and patterns. I suggest adding variation in places to keep things from droning out and starting to lose its impact. The drums could be beefier in both too and I would try to add some layering to give your sounds a bit more personality. Both solid starts and with some work both could be pretty sick. I dig.

Kes-Es: Your track is unavailable mate

Leave Blank : Its pretty cool and ambient man. One thing I would suggest and what I always find cool about that kind of music is instead of treating it like a regular song with an A section B section whatever that just repeats like ABAB whatever, try just making it constantly evolve. The song kinda falls back on itself when you repeat the intro at the break. I would try to keep things different by adding some stuff to that part. Keep things moving forward so people have to listen to your whole song to get the full idea! Not just the first half twice! (Vocals could do this quite effectively)

Heres a track I've recently started working on. Its a little bit in the glitch hop territory but I'm going to bring it back around with some dubsteppyness when I drop it down. This is all I have up till the drop so any suggestions thus far or even for what to do next would be really cool! The track is in my signature! Thanks for any advice suggestions or criticisms I appreciate it!

leaveblank nice track, but it is like intro, without drop, and wobbles

antman avoid retentiveness, but sounds really familiar

djsampletank really chill track but still lacks weight of distortion, you can add hi pass filter to wobbles, so it will fit song

I tried to do something, like superheavy song, early wip, so bass pattern is just looping around

leave blank, i'd love vocals on that one. not really up front but like in the back, some airy kinda stuff. would be great :D awesome track as well man!

CE9958, made me think of KOAN Sound immediately, nice and funky. Love the snare! Good stuff dude, keep working on it :D

Sunshaft, I really the 3rd sound in the drop. The regular wobble so to say, creaky high-end is awesome. I think you should make something else for the YOY sound though.. Way too overused for me. That's my taste though :) the snare is awesome haha!

I've been working on a DNB track lately... Nearly finished but I'd love some feedback on it before I finish it up! The sub is an absolute bitch haha.

@Leave Blank: Like the vibes drum works really nice, tunes very organic. My only grate is with the kick, after a few minutes it starts to sound like someones constantly tapping their foot on the floor, change the pattern up, just anything to lose familiarity with the consistency of the kick.

@antman: Oldschool pure vibes, I feel the percussion is lacking power in the mix, bring the levels up or try compression in the right places, can be a godsend, give it a go.

@sampletank: Again, I like the vibes, except that snare, way to loud in the mix, pretty sure its a couple db above everything else, just bring that down and bring it in line.

Heres something I started work on an hour ago, it's a bit more bouncy than my usual.

Rubikx - I'm not typically a fan of deep/sub dubstep, but I'm really feeling this song. The asian vibe sort of switches into a darkness, but shines back through every now and then. I love the feel. It feels very asian/japanese in the beginning but transitions to a more jungley feel, it's weird but cool. Great sound man. Would like to feel the snare more.

LifeOfCows - Good ideas, some good sounds, but you really need to clean up your mix. Read as much as you can about mixing. The mix is too muddled, it's hard to comprehend the creativity behind it, and you definitely don't want to do that.

jclarkeiv - Learn as much as you possibly can if you want to get better. Spend all of your spare time on production, and the rest of your spare time on learning about production. Learn music theory, learn the technical aspects of production, learn everything you possibly can, but most of all just have fun and try to be creative. Make what you think sounds good.

AcidRat - Cool sound to it. A nice break from all the dark moody-ness. Feels kinda bouncey and light. Need to feel a little more sub though. It sounds like your main bass is the same as your sub. I think you should try setting up a separate sub instrument and giving it some work.

antman - Cool sound to it. Drums could use a bit of work. I like the snare, but the kick feels weak and the little hat noise is a bit flat. Layer up! Bass sounds kinda cool, and I'm definitely more of a fan of the bass that rolls in around 1:10 or so.

Lichee - I listened to the second one I think? First one was unavailable. Liked the feel, gets a bit repetitive though. Add some more sounds! Some more flava!

Kes-Es - Main bass sound is a bit overpowering. Sub feels decent to be honest. Kick feels a little too far back in the mix though. But i'm digging the main bass, just turn it down and add some power to the kick and snare. Layers maybe? Snare feels a bit flat, not snappy enough for my tastes. Layout and sounds are nice though.

CE9958 - Sounds really cool. All I can say is keep up the good work!

KoenDercksen - Really feelin' the sub man. Drums stand out nicely in the mix as well. The main bass noise sounds a bit muddled. Would like to see some more warmth on it. Nice feel to the track though.

@Sunshaft- Im a fan of the track but your bass need's more punch it feels a little bit too flat for that kind of style put some more mid into it!! eq'it and then put a limiter good start!

@Renegadex- Really solid intro nothing to say about it it's great! I like the bass maybe come with some modulation in it to make thing's a little more interesting but so far so good!

@KoenDercksen- Good work on the track but the bass is a little too muddy for my liking i think the track would shine with a crisper bass! keep it up good idea's!

Here's my latest wip second part is being worked on :4: also trying to rec myself with a real guitar for the breakdown!

@astral - song is nice. not my style but i think its produced well.

@renegadex - niice! the intro could use a good sample, but its all there already forreal.

@globalz - very nice man, i like the intro melody alot. just variate the grime wobble some more tonally here an there.

did a better mixdown of this, i think it turned out pretty decent.. what do you guys think? added something like a build also...

Rubikx
Has a really nice vibe but there needs to be some subtle top end added to the sub as its a little bland at the moment. Something squelchy and distorted.

LifeOfTheCows
Is that bass pad sidechained with the kick? If so its too much, I don't like how the pad fades in. Its all a bit muddy, some nasty textures in there but its hard to hear anything really. The sounds need some more space.

AcidRat
Did not expact that :) Its fun, not really my thing so hard to comment as I def prefer things darkers / heavier but its fun!

DJ Sampletank
Cool intro, needs more bass. Its dark but sounds pretty happy as well.

antman
Love the intro synth. All very deep, like this very much, I need to hear it on something with a decent sub.

Kes-Es
Its like a crazy dream, some really sweet sounds in the build up. After the drop there's something slightly off about how that lead syncs for me, like its slightly off at places. Pretty cool tho although not at all the sort thing i'd listen to.

Leave Blank
Properly deep vibes. Really well balanced. Really feeling this one!

Astral
Feeling the intro a lot. I think the drop is missing a little something tho. There doesn't seem to be much volume change between the two. I think if it kicked in a little more it'd have a really thick, meaty sound to it and would be properly fantastic.

renegadex
Like your snare but the kick sounds a tad thin. Needs a little more beef (not much!). On the build the snare pattern is a little weird. After the drop, if you clean up the muddiness its going to sounds big. Just needs that top end clarity and BOOM.

jimbeaux
Loving the sounds on this one! With a decent mixdown this track could be darrrrkk.

Here's the next version of the track I recently posted. Nearly ready for a mixdown :)

@ Burgeamon - Vocals remind me of skrillex, that your voice? pretty cool, although around halfway i think the track sounds hollow. however i Love when it says "drop it!"

@ jimbeaux - It's i nice intro, and the vocals are sick! it sounds like a transformer fight haha i like it. I dont have my headphones, so it might not be fair of me to say that i think it may just need a TAD bit more sub bass :) but nice track overall, filth!

@renegadex - Intro is really cool, but i feel like it could be just a bit too long. but @ 1.23 so sick, really nice work, cant think of anything else except the longness of the intro

@CE9958 - I dont know why, but this song reminds me of feed me's song "White Spirits" its got funky ass bass, and its nice and bouncy and heavy, really like it! looking forward to hearing finished product

Just looking for a bit of feedback on my new tune herbaceous plants, kind of a silly irrelevant name hah but was just wondering if i could get some feedback! was going to maybe put a really nice sounding lead synth over that electro bass. let me know what you all think!

thanks!
