I could listen to any set feat. Crazy D ever, and come out saying that it was spot on. :D Im guessing you might just be looking for something different from an MC, but all I ever want is someone who shuts the fuck up, pulls up tunes and will give you the odd well timed catchphrase that just makes the difference between "this is a wicked tune" and "oh my fucking christ, I and about 60 other people have just shit". He may not have the most bars going, they may not be the most inventive...but God knows as soon as I hear "Woah woah woah!!" its head down, skanked out o'clock :D Oh, and I dont mind the OCCASIONAL spitting of bars (ooh matron!) but its got to fit...unfortunately I think with the vast, vast majority of MCs, theres just no sense of when to go for it, and when to keep yer yap shut and let us all listen :(

And dont mind jubscarz, hes cranky in the morning

Edit: As a quick side note, just thought id add that I personally dont have even the slightest interest in what an MC actually says (apart from the odd classic pokes quote, "This one WILL activate your shit muscle" being a solid percy  ) its all about the timing, knowing the tunes, knowing when the audience wants you talking/pulling up tunes etc. So I dont really mind lyrics like "this one dutty yo, let it roll"

It's not this one though. Its like a VIP of the Ramadan cut, but I'm not sure...the vocals are hardly recognisable (even smaller snipets than Ramadan's version), but the overlaying melody is really striking and well composed- what is this tune? Its really really nice.

Sorry if i pissed you off. The lyric I quoted was used as an example of how lame his lyrics are (in my view), listen to that set and tell me his MC'ing good!

And I stand behind my statement that most garage / grime MC's are rude bois. Compared to Jungle / DnB MC's they are far more urban and gritty and immature with their vocals. Also as far as I know Jungle also had an influence on Dubstep, it's not some exclusive grime/garage scene. So what is wrong with comparing grime/garage MC's to Jungle/ DnB MC's?
No there is nothing wrong with comparing the two, obviously the musical fibres of dubstep and jungle are intertwined. I think it's best to not constantly compare the two, dubstep is it's own force. As for Crazy D he has a unique style and his lyrics are not supposed to be deep, just fun. But either way it makes no difference to me if you like/dislike him we're all entitled to our opinions. Sorry I was arsey, it was my own "irrational prejudices" about the dnb scene that riled me up. :)

can anyone ID a couple of other bits from that Youngsta show? 13308.

What is the "cops don't like me so I don't like cops" tune? Youngsta mixes this impeccably with Swagger around 52 minute mark- these tunes sound like they were made for each other.

And the tune after this that comes in around 55...always hear Youngsta on these tunes but never know what they are...and the tune he opens with. Or anything else...he has a such a deep selection and has a good ear for A&R.

aha! Heard this out a million times, and every time I mean to whack an ID on here when i get back, never have though...till now!

Its an unbelievably stomping bit of work that sounds like it should be on boka records to me! (dunno why just does!) Its the one where it goes "We cant slow it down...or can we?!!" then all the beat fucks off and youve just got a twisted bass noise spiralling down into this stomping beat with "we are in the zone" (i think) at the end of each 16 bars or whatever.

Its a biggun, and I keep hearing it!!

Babylon System- Examination of Time (ARGON RECORDINGS- forthcoming ARG016?)

I think I've written this before in this thread :)
testament to the quality of the song (or more specifically, the drop) i guess

What's the name of that one tune that has really clean wobbly basslines and in the middle of it goes "uhhh..it's time to slow it down one bit...like this..." and then goes into a half time feel for a second, and then resumes the main groove with massive basslines?

Skream - Dutch Flowers (think this might be the Rusko remix tho, but not sure with that sound quality)

I'd like to know the name of the Mala piece at the end at like 7.40 odd. Hear this all the time but still don't know what it is. Pure percussion goodness.
