Was looking at Bear Witness on Discogs, made me realise what a sick year 2009 was for Hotflush.

Mount Kimbie - Maybes EP
Mount Kimbie - Sketch On Glass EP
Untold - Sweat/Dante
Untold - Just For You
Pangaea - Bear Witness/Mosaix
Joy Orbison - Hyph Mngo/Wet Look

Big 12 months

i still dont own Hyph Mngo. Probs should get it, because it got overplayed I kinda fell out with it, but i reckon it'd shell down a party these days

I remember someone recently saying how badly Hyph Mngo had aged, need to have a relisten I think.

Doesn't sound too shabby. Bit loopy maybe, though I think first time I heard it I wasn't really aware of the whole Future Garage thing. And wasn't this like the first tune to be of this sort?

Yeah, I still like this. Arrangement is simple but effective.

I still reckon it'd go off. Might cop it, probably can get it for a few quid.

It's fun, less serious than a load of dubstep and had some good energy. + it's nice to have more 140 which isnt halfstep.

Shell'd down last SubDub & has gone off every time i've seen it/played it out. Good end of the night/set tune still. Especially good on the beach at Outlook.

Tbf the intro just does the job. + its weightier than people think, sub punches nice on a decent rig.

Just about where you put it in a set really.

and the oscar mulero and amorce tunes on the last osiris ep are bangers
nah, Killawatt makes much better dubstep. Warehouse Dub, Jigsaw Dub etc and Kryptic Minds - One Of Us album is one of the best dubstep albums of all time.
and tbh outside of his osiris stuff, i only like a couple of black box records. killawatt, i mean
and as far as km go, monic only released a couple of tunes so far so it's not really fair to compare. they're overrated anyway
fair enough I guess. I really rated KM but if you didn't i could see the new stuff could be better
nah i rate them. just don't think they're as great as people make them out to be tbh. love their osiris records around 2009-2010. wondering why is one of my top dubstep tunes and rubberman is the dungeon tune imo. just think it's a shame they got stuck in that youngsta sound when they had potential for new directions (wondering why, torn, afterlife remix). the namaste ep was horrible tho

sigha - bruised / expansions
sigha - on the strip / remembrance
(both heavily underrated and some of the best records from that whole dubstep/garage/techno crossover period)

Hyph Mngo still sounds sick imo, hasn't really aged at all. Do people consider it Future Garage?
