@caredub- I quite liked this actually and I thought I wasnt going to, the idea of filth and ambient dubstep didnt sound like it would work but it did. Im not a huge fan of the wobble you had panned to the right- it sounded a bit empty to me and you could have done with some higher pitched synths to make the low bass stand out a little more.

Overall though good attempt, and trying to do something different which is always welcome!!

Could you give some feedback on 'tough love' on my soundcloud.

Cheers

@creeperonfire- I like the sound you got there with the synths that seam to move around in my headphones- dont know what panning you used there? Refreshing to hear something that had more melody with bass undertones rather than the other way around!!

The vocal -'are you scared?' at the start is a bit too loud but then before the drop its not loud enough- I think anyway.

Overall I liked it though.

Could you return the favour? Links in the sig.

@ kid kuduro
i like it but there wasnt much depth as in breakdowns and such. could do with a bit more shock factor.

There should be a link to download the 320 there as well.
It's a cool track man, but I feel it doesn't have any sort of wow factor to it you know?
Not really feeling the sax too much either, although the track would probably be too plain with out

Hey Trip,

Not really overly sure about this one IMO dude, the drums are heavy but the melodies and hooks seem a little too random and I can't grip myself to it because it doesn't seem to be catchy enough. Maybe if you bought the main riff to the front a little more it may help, but it's a bit of a frequency muddy puddle atm dude.

Cool, thanks man. I definitely like the sax, and the track is supposed to not have any wow factor...more a listening piece than anything. Maybe that's not a good thing, who knows. I'm definitely not 100% happy with it, mostly with the drums, but when I work on it I can't really find anything that satisfies me, so I just decided to post it up for download for anybody that may actually dig it.

Here's a track from about two years ago that was just sitting around because I didn't like the drums...so I decided today to go back to it and redo the drums for it, since there were still a few things I liked in the tune. Kind of a dark, sub-bass heavy stepper.

Really loving the start and build up, its probably the middle that isnt as good, if i was in your position i would just start again using the beginning. It could be a real amazing track
just my opinion :)

Hey man, goona give some feed back but return it on this tune for me :) Soundcloud

intro - 0.37 Feeling the vibe off that melody
0.37 - 0.54 Cool
0.55 - 1.50 Cool, not what I was expecting! Synth needs to be rougher on the melody that comes in here and i think the snare sound should be changed, the drum pattern is cool
1.50 - 2.16 Not a bad break
2.17 - 4.21 Ending kind of dragged on so I started to loose attention?

Overall - Not a bad tune, production and the mixing is good! Cool kind of relaxed airy style, not my thing really, but your track is good! If it was up to me I'd mash up that airy vibe with a harsh Synth lead or bass line!

Not a bad tune at all...here's what I would change:

- The wobbly melody ALMOST works, but I think either the sound itself isn't right, or it's too upfront in the mix. I feel like if it were in the background a bit more it would still add melody to the track but wouldn't stand out so much.

- The drums are good, but maybe a bit too much harsh hi-hat action, making it sound really hectic all the time. I would work on the velocity of the high hats and make the beat a bit sparser; I think it would lend itself well to this kind of track.

- The synth at 3:15 stands out a bit much in that I feel like it doesn't quite blend with the track...but it's almost there. Maybe it just needs a different melody or something and needs to stick around a little longer.

It's got potential though!

I feel like musically this is a really cool tune, but the sounds themselves don't work completely. This is going to sound harsh, but it's mostly because it's almost 3am here and I'm tired, but keep in mind that I really liked this tune.

- The drums sound too synthetic, which isn't always a bad thing, but they're not synthetic in a way that it adds to the track. When the claps come in and it gets crunked up, I think it sounds a lot better...maybe think about making the rest of the tune similar to that.

- The sound used for the reggae stabs sounds like a bad preset when it's not being masked by other sounds in the tune.

- When all of the synthetic violin sounds are playing together and it's getting all epic, it sounds kinda harsh...like I'm thinking it might be a little much on a club system.

- The wobble sound sounds kinda thin, or rather, in between fat and thin...so I would choose a direction and either make it fatter or thinner.

I really really liked this tune though, and I'm not normally into this kinda stuff...but I think it has a lot of potential on the dancefloor. I would just make it more "crunk" and less "dubstep" if you know what I mean.

That's cool dude. By wow factor I wasn't talking about 'whoaaaaaa fuck me' sort of wow factor but rather it's a bit samey man... Nothing I haven't heard before sort of thing. It's got potential to be a good track it just lacks something to make it an original track, like more of a vocal or a more solid lead motif?

Ah yeah in the case I agree...just too lazy to work on it more as the track feels unsalvageable from my point of view
