@ Sirius: Great !! Instruments kick ass. Very unique style also. 1 tiny remark though,
i think the kick sounds a bit inert/dead.(dunno how to describe this in proper English-i'm no native speaker)
Other than that. Awesome tune already, finish it!

@Isturite:some decent ideas theres, but it's a bit too freaky for my taste. Some contradicting atmospheres
make it a bit awkward to listen too. You might want to fix that. I can't say much on the technical aspect, cuz I'm still too much of a production n00b :(

Here's my wippy. Note: I add sub at the end - ain't got decent speakers atm. Would love some feedback and will return the favor ^.^

@Sirius - absolutely lovin' that track mate, intro is proper chill with the sort of reggae stabs and up stroke guitar, love the gritty, slow wobble that comes in aswell, feels proper epic. one thing i can hear at the moment is the snare sounds kinda muddy with the guitar, think it might be the reverb making it sound indistinct, other than that mate no real issues with the mix, sounding good, try get it finished cause it'll be wicked when its done !

@Traffikz - Real like the feel of the track mate, nice rhythm to it. only thing i don't like is the open high hat sound, dunno why might just be me but dont like it , also i would tighten up the ending and maybe vary the high hat alittle, maybe shuffle a few of the triplets to add movement and make it more intersting, nice track though mate, keep workin on it !

Old-ish WIP that i've kinda necro'd from the depths of my HDD, any ideas for progression would be sweet cause ive kinda hit a brick wall, and mix improvements aswell would be much appreciated :)!

thanks guys !

work on ya drum more. i wasn't feeling asny rhythm ah. yeah i might be harsh but.. it was shit! keep moving forward & work on something in particular in the track & follow it, it will stop the disjoinedness! heaps of cool ideas... keep at it!!chea
how much creativity did your track take? a kick and snare sample? some old DnB samples? and the classic bass wobble?.... that song would be cool ten years ago! It just sounds like every other amatuer dubstep producer, i guess it IS dubstep...

@Erebus, that track was just sick... personally i get tired of 808's but nevertheless it's nice and thick... like it a lot

@Traffik, like the change ups, don't really have much I can tell you because it seems that you filled in most of the track with plenty of stuff to make in interesting... only thing I could say is those clicky sounds w/ the reverb could be eq'd a little, there some hi-mid frequencies in there that are little harsh when it's loud

talk about not taking creative critism ? Would you rather he lied to you and said it was great and you keep making shit tunes ?

and was it really necessary to rip into his tune just cause he didn't like yours? Haters gonna hate, if you had any confidence in your own tunes you'd take it on the chin and keep on fucking making tunes the way you want to. grow the fuck up.

Sirius- either a low quality mp3 or some clipping issues going on

isturite - sounds like the drums need a bit more presence. listening to it more, i think with some extra tlc on the beats this could be a good idm eqsue tune. sub seems a bit loud too.

this is actually why I was contemplating not saying anything...

I totally agree and I'm all for constructive criticism, but I sincerely think that his track sucked, it sounded like every other person learning to make dubstep, but i wasn't just gonna go out and say that straight up, people have different tastes in music... he just brought my honest opinion out, wasn't trying to rip on anyone specifically... just thought if he was gonna be honest so was I

that is a pretty nasty one man! and i've heard a lot of remixes of that song so nice job... only thing I could mention is that really gnarly bass wobble, could be gnarlier with some more weight to it... I can hear it in the mix but since it's mostly hi frequencies it seems sort of percussive, if you could feel that bass wobble a little more this track would be fuckin gnar gnar

I've always wanted to do a song with percussion like this, but I never really got myself to... this has a lot of potential to be a sick track though, dubstep or not... I keep wanting to hear some deep plucked strings or a didgeradoo ran through some distortion lol... either way try turning those electricity synth sounds down a little bit and adding another layer, although I'm not sure if you want that to be the dominant part of the song or not... I'm curious to see how it turns out

@the_agonist - Awesome start dude! I really love the bass sounds. They could be a little more varied. Try sticking in some more hi-end sounds, even just automate the filter frequency. I also think messing with the snare sound would be cool. You could stick a bit of delay on some of the hits and change the wetness, feedback and speed for each. That would give it a nice classic dub feel, while still being cool and progressive with the Tomba/Chrispy/16-Bit-esque bass sounds. I also think it deserves a proper ending rather than a fade out. Good stuff.

@Erebus-7 - I think the short/sharpness of the glass break sounds works really well. I would've instinctively put some reverb on it, but I'm glad you didn't. I'm glad you dragged this out of the archives - it's got loads of potential. The note progression of the bass is like that tune from the Matrix. Simple, but dark and ominous. I think some thunder sounds would work really well, with some rain as well every now and then. It wouldn't need to be huge and in your face, but if it was just audible in the quieter bits that'd rock. Looking forward to hearing more of this.

Here's an update of my last WIP. I've pulled it apart and changed the progression (as in added some), given it a proper beginning and end (kinda) and messed with the mix. I also added hihat to the drums as suggested.

Ya almost all those drums were made in Absynth 5, and it has been a long tedious process to get my drums to have presence... i've come a long way though, cuz in my old tracks my drums are all over the place... the reason i posted this actually was to see if the sub was too loud so thanks for the info

... but for your track... sorry to say I don't have much criticism because it seems pretty close to done, the only thing I would add is just some random sounds here and there... like maybe an ultra reverb snare every 4 measures or something like that, and some filter sweeps and noise fills and shit like that... just really subtle finishing touches to connect the sections of the song together

OH yea, I'd normally think that vocal sample was totally out of place! but it was sick!!! I really like the deepness of the track... only one thing though... where is the kick drum?? I was kind of just waiting for a kick to thump in

@Elkie, that garage track was pretty legit. got my head noddin. def makes you wanna dance to it :P the chill track was also pretty sick. the intro had a nice underground hiphop-ish feel to it.

this is a small snippet of something ive been putting together.
