In 1956 in USA there was segregation, and lynching of black people was common. In the UK they made a video showing the plight of West-Indian immigrants where they used the word "negro". No moral high ground indeed.

They're not saying west indians were a "problem" before they arrived. There had already arrived 10.000 the year before and they were expecting another 15.000 that year... and they never say they're worth less than brits, they're acknowledging that big immigration spikes are problematic in terms of integration, housing and work. If your point was that the UK is an inherently racist society you shouldn't have picked out that video. It does not prove your point at all.

The Brazilians did exactly that. They found out that there was no racism in Brazil because they had "Tropicalism", and then refused to tackle their racism problem because it didn't exist! And we all know how that turned out...

Kant and Hume used scientific reasoning to install the idea that the "white race" and white skin was superior. that was in the 1700's. imo, racism, in the modern context starts with them and the age of enlightenment. before that there was no justification for barbarism, oppression or enslavement, other than pure xenophobia.. you were either a persian, of persian blood, or you were a barbarian and beneath.
