And, although it'll be of no interest to jaydot who's already made up his mind, the stats all back each other up.

The public coffers have grown thanks to immigration, due to immigrants claiming markedly less benefits than natives:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-24813467
Immigrants who arrived after 1999 were 45% less likely to receive state benefits or tax credits than UK natives in the period 2000-2011, according to the report by Prof Christian Dustmann and Dr Tommaso Frattini from UCL's Centre for Research and Analysis of Migration.

They were also 3% less likely to live in social housing.

"These differences are partly explainable by immigrants' more favourable age-gender composition. However, even when compared to natives with the same age, gender composition, and education, recent immigrants are still 21% less likely than natives to receive benefits," the authors say.
But yeah, facts are useless in the face of rigid opinions.

Its truly unbelievable someone in Jaydots position, assuming you genuinely are quite ill and require help, holds such strong views about not helping others who, more often than not, are genuinely trying to improve their often shitty lives or lives of their family. To refuse people the opportunity to better their life or their families lives out of your bigotry is absolutely sickening imo. I can't believe people have such passionate views that can be so devastating to peoples lives that would have almost no impact on your own, whether a family moves here or not would have zero impact on your situation but could drastically improve their own situation and you're willing to just wipe your hands with it because they weren't luck enough to be born here.

And this is the crux of the whole thing... I'm *always* amazed how conservative parties (small c) like the Tories, UKIP or the Republicans in America manage to appeal to poor and working class people so effectively. It's madness. They don't care about the common man in the slightest; they care about business owners and profit makers. Nigel Farage doesn't give two fucks about the hard working poor of Britain unless they're the 1 in 1000 that are exhibiting entrepreneurship, he just craves notoriety and power and realises the best way to go about it is to prey on the fear and anger of poor people which is naturally maximised during poor economic periods. We've just been through one of the worst recessions of our lifetimes *globally*, the whole world is feeling the pinch, not just us... it's not just that "New Labour left such a mess to clear up", Republicans presided over exactly the same process in America.

Whatever caused the economic crisis, it has a few obvious knock-on effects. Unemployment has been high for the last few years. This naturally makes people angry and scared... you can't argue with the fear of a man who doesn't know how he's going to feed his family, but you can engage with it in many ways. You could pragmatically look for solutions to employment, to create jobs, to retrain workers from industries that are no longer relevant to the UK, to start mass-apprenticeship schemes for young people, to create public building projects that pump money into construction and engineering..... or you can give them the Opium of hatred so that you don't have to go to the trouble. Give them someone to blame. Preferably someone that it's difficult to have a proper conversation with. Someone you can level whatever prejudices you need to against and never have to properly back them up. The perfect target? An immigrant.

My apologies to everyone for invoking Godwin's Law, but it's been the same tactics since Hitler told a struggling Germany that it was all the Jews fault. Hate and fear are always effective but rarely good things to promote.

I'm not really, they don't like the current leader (Brown/Blair) so they switch over to the only other option and it goes in cycles

There'll always be the hardcore areas and Scotland that will never vote conservative but I don't think your average person feels strongly enough either way

well it was actually

In high school up in Romania we gotta study 18 subjects up in a year, we cannot select all dem A levels fo' realz. Among these subjects I remember takin one titled simply 'Logic' yo. Here our slick asses hustled bout Aristotlez Fallacies. Put ya muthafuckin choppers up if ya feel dis! Right back up in yo muthafuckin ass. Slick Rick Whately followed Aristotlez thoughts n' divided tha fallacies tha fuck into logic n' material. It aint nuthin but tha nick nack patty wack, I still gots tha bigger sack. Logic fallacies is arguments up in which tha conclusion don't follow tha premise. Interestin thangs I know, they stuck wit mah dirty ass. In dis category you have informal fallacies like fuckin hasty generalization which is basically tha wobbly foundation of yo' article. In simple lyrics you can pin tha attributez of a crew onto tha individual belongin ta dat crew yo, but not vice versa. It aint nuthin but a cold-ass lil funky-ass error up in logic n' I be thinkin tha simpla Gangsta word fo' it is Bullshit.

Taking fedorable offence at things just to try and be intellectually superior vs actually being vilified by newspapers and calling out the bullshit with a valid argument against poor logic. IMO TBH IMO TBF

You're becoming a self caricature, jaydot... that sort of line would be pathetic for The Sun's online comments, let alone someone who's been in further education. I'd honestly suggest logging off for a few days and then coming back and reading through the posts you've made in here over the last 24 hours. If you're not embarrassed to your very core by them, I'd suggest you smash every record you own with any sort of immigrant influence, join Stormfront and/or throw yourself off a fucking bridge.

Alternatively, use your spare time to read some books on British history (I can recommend Simon Schama's series very highly) and THEN re-read your posts through the eyes of an informed person.

you know what's funny... I have an A* in GCSE English, did A Levels taught in English and am now doing a degree at a Uni of London but to become a British citizen I still have to take a £125 test to prove I know English :| not to mention another stupid test about the kings and queens of England, as if that's common knowledge

hey jaydot, answer this question since apparently all British people would know this WITHOUT GOOGLING:

Which Two of the following happened when William of Orange invaded England in 1688?
A) James II fled to France
B) There was a battle in which James II was killed
C) William became William III and reigned jointly with his wife Mary
D) William was attacked in the English Channel and his ship sank
