Aguirre is hilarious. When he tosses the monkey. -w-

The bit where he walks into the horse and slaps it is so funny.

the hustler is classic. the guy who wrote that also wrote the novel The Man Who Fell To Earth, which is one of my favorite books.

stroszek is great. it's slow and depressing if you can handle it. it's especially good though because of the star Bruno S., who he first used in The Enigma of Kasper Hauser, which is great as well. the guy is kinda half retarded. total herzog type of character to work with.

Open to anything. Mainly good flicks worth watching more than once. I'll have to browse through the thread a few more times.

Trailer certainly gave the impression that it was going to be alot more action packed. If you havnt seen it don't be put off by the fact that it's not as fast paced as others in the genre, I still thought it was brilliant. Maybe more so because its such a different take on the style. Special effects are some of the best ive seen recently and for a film which boasted a small budget it does not dissapoint.

Strongly recommended, not your usual survival/exploitation film.

Was very excited about this until I found out the only role in the film was to be played by everyones favorite Ryan Reynolds. He is out acted by his mobile phone, some sand and the wood hes trapped in. Nothing happens really and there isnt really any tension until the last 5 mintues.

Funny, smart, maybe a little too bias in favor of atheism for any religious people but its not a film that pretends to be a balanced argument. Bill Maher is hilarious and some of the characters he meets are literally clueless. Definately worth a watch for fans of the satirical documentary style film.

watched Buried - to be honest, its pretty hard to make a film watchable with just one setting and one actor, thought it did a decent job.

re-watched two classics this week, the above and Raging Bull love those films

Yeah i mean, i suppose given the storyline there wasn't alot to work with and I think maybe the iraq angle was totally not what I expected , I just felt as though the characters on the phone could of been scripted better and to be fair im not in any way an R Reynolds fan so maybe a little bias.
As I said, at first i was excited, seemed like quite a novel idea.

I watched this last night, it's streaming on Netflix. It's a documentary about Joaquin Phoenix quitting being an actor to pursue a rap career. Some say it's a hoax, I think it might just be his way of saying I fucked up and "I'm Still Here." I would recommend it.

Yeah i've heard a lot about this, i have a copy here but havn't got around to viewing it yet. Seems like an interesting concept if its a hoax or not.
From what I've read, it seems he's either been acting out scripted scenes for the film about him just kind of losing it a bit and trying to start a rap career but using real life situations with people that aren't in on it as an amazing sort of lead to the film coming out. OR everyone has been in on it this whole time.
I do remember seeing him acting particularly weird on a lot of talk shows in the sort of year before hearing about the film.

Don't be so hard on JP, life's hard when you have to snort your blow from a rental car instead of a limo.
