I love dubstep BECAUSE it's diverse, and easy to get into new artists and styles within the genre. Putting a name on different styles is all well and good but in my opinion you're getting the situation -that a lot of posters have already mentioned- where nights that are strictly one type of dubstep would spring up which would be a bit shit. At the end of the day though it's surely about what you enjoy regardless of what it's called?

Pretty sure it was Kozee(?), female, not a douche, actually probably like a benign comment tbh... probably a compliment actually if I remember hearing correctly... it's like masculine and upfront. Descriptor, not a bad thing unless masculine and upfront is bad to the individual hearing it... I'd say probably more of an insult to whatever isn't brostep and is apparently "weaker" but I don't think it was meant like that either.

I do know that all the Rusko hate threads seem to have done nothing to hurt sales. If anything they maybe helped, in that the threads are like 20 pages long for haters and 1 page long for love... what thread would you rather have 1 million google hits for? Hate will always drum up your sales or plays or whatever. Name recognition is priceless dude. Bask in the hate. Bathe in that shit. You're doing the damn thing and the streets are responding.

For every person that will love a tune there will be 5 million who don't... oh well, find those who do. Obviously people keep signing it and people keep buying it and playing it or your name wouldn't even have hit this thread. True talk. You like the tunes you make? This thread doesn't even exist then in your world ya know what I mean?

If you read something 5 times or more it is generally remembered... someone is going to be looking for new tunes and see your name and not be abe to place where they know it from... listen, hear that it's what moves them and buy your tunes. Sounds like you came up here then with a 20 page hate thread. I don't think anyone even mentioned Reso except joking that it was all his fault. That's cause no soundbwoy gwan tes Reso's skills. They just don't know you yet and you're a bit different. Before you know it they'll be naming you in their top 5 producer circle jerk thread lol :z:

Personally i don't like to see people falling asleep on the dancefloor. Is the main reason I stick to writing music with a good amount of energy. End of the day its all music, some belongs on the dancefloors, some doesn't. Music is the greatest form of self-expression. Imho most the tunes on Phaeleh's album are sleep inducing and/or belong in something else other than a dancefloor. Like films, games, something of that nature. Good to listen to, smoke to, chill to, but don't do much in the lines of hyping people up 'n gettin 'em moving. Reso makes some of the sickest tunes I've heard in the genre. High energy dance floor driving beats. Ultrablack does the same. I'm not a huge fan of Borgore's work, and I have my reasons for that. I don't hate on him for what he does, its just not my cup o' tea. I respect every musician and artist for what they do even tho I do not agree with it, or like it. Its personal preference. TrillBass's music has alot of energy, and is generally pretty well-written. Same with Richie's. Yah I know it appears as if I'm backing up my friends, and I am, but ask all of them if I'm biased in my opinions on their music. I tell it like it is from my perspective as an artist, and music lover.

Don't start nothing, won't be nothing. Talk shit, get bit. Or at least bitched at.

Have an opinion on something, sure. Voice your opinion on such things, got no problem with that. Start talkin shit 'n cutting people down for their choice of self-expression, and you've begun your trek down the dark alley no one should travel. You want to be an elitist, you'll be treated as such. Keep your mind open and free as it should be in any form of arts.

Good music is good music, shit music is shit music. Good art is good art, shit art is shit art. etc etc so on 'n so forth.

One more thing. I've noticed that when an individual hates on something, there is usually an underlying reason for that. Hate on grimey bass because you can't make it, hate on thick drums because you can't achieve thick drums. If you're going to have an opinion on something, you should make it an educated one. At least give a reason for your opinion on such matters.

my .02 on the matter.

I absolutely agree, but bottom line is I produce dubstep. Used to produce hip hop and dnb but now DUBSTEP. Call it what you will at the end of the day i still call it that. All music has sub genres and yes i love haters, they make the world go round. Brostep is not a negative description but i think some of these clowns think it is. Notice i haven't dropped one name in my posts, thats because theres nobody to call out imo. The name droppers are essentially nobody's which is why they name drop so much. Anyways let's make music, those of us who actually do that is.

Can't believe this thread reached 20 pages. All over "brostep"? really? That stuff gets people movin' for sure. If it's a good tune, people will rock out.

One more thing.

When you start getting haters, you know you're doing something right. Doing something that is causing a ruckus and/or controversy. Something new that people don't quite understand, yet when they experience it they get it.

Yep.... . I said it as a description of the music ( I think i was actually poking fun at dz, excision, and datsick, whom i love) ... its not to demean anyone.

We don't take it as demeaning, others are buying into it being demeaning and essentially turning it into a demeaning term.
