Another thing I don't miss about London. Can count on one hand the number of times I've had to stand on the metro on the way to/from work.

Some dickhead suit robbed me of a seat one morning on the tram, thought he was smug withit, so I wiped the sole of my shoe all over his nice creamy trailing trench coat every time the ride got a little rocky. Muddied that shit up real nice. That's a fond memory.

I want to watch the Doctor Who special at the cinema (And what? Fuck you.) but all the performances near me are 3D only and my eyes are too 'good' (read: shit) to be fooled by 3D.

THIS IS DISCRIMINATION AGAINST DISDIFFERENTLY-ABLEDS

And that's the reason even i can't speak French. I live not so far from the French border and the only thing that i can say is 'Je ne parle pas français'. If you want to learn a language it's better that you are doing it by yourself. And that's something i'm gonna to do when i'm starting to learn German.

Yeah, trying to think in Japanese just sounds like an impossibility for me.

It doesn't help that there are different ways of saying the same thing depending on your age, who you're talking to, their relationship to you and their/your standing in society.
beginner, lvl 1 lol. but i understand a lot of words already. like i can watch japanese tv and figure out (most of the time) whats going on (unless its anything other than kanto dialect)

i love it though, its such a beautiful language and society, all based on bushido.
Yeah i'm trying immerse myself in the language as much as possible but there's only so many anime/samurai/yakuza/fucked up horror films you can watch without going a bit doolally!

"Gennosuke sama!"

I can introduce myself (politely) perfectly but that's about it. You learning to read it too? Fuuuuuck that!
A few years back i watched some anime and the only thing i'm remembered is that 'oyabin' means boss and that they use 'sama' after the name of a friend. :)

I just found the video that taught me to introduce myself -

I have to be careful where I pick words up from though as some Samurai films (Yojimbo in this case) use period terms that are no longer in use. It's a shame, Toshiro Mifune makes them sound so cool!

haha yea, learning japanese from 7 samurai and yojimbo arent the best ways.

theres a book called "Japanese in mangaland", highly suggest it.

it teaches you from a manga perspective, so its quite easy to pick up as its in an easy-to-learn format.
