130 thread
Re: 130 thread
four tracks deep and thus far it's good stuff, thanks mate! 10 tunes on a single 12" seems a bit rough though.

Efox (i cna never spell his UN right) mixes all kinds of mad shit with it, ill link his scjrkhnds wrote:when DJing in clubs I don't worry too much about it, and with dubstep, I hardly ever encounter that sort of situation. but trying to record a "130 techno mix" is a bit frustrating since there's not much choice about.

the second tune is pev & kowton - vapours (pangaea remix). big track but sounds bigger than usual cos of the blend with the tune before itjrkhnds wrote:what's the two tunes at 01:32:20 (after Over Deh So) and the next one?![]()

I'm late again, sorry, but yeah this is an interesting division, I like it. Hadn't really thought of it like that - kinda focussed on the keysound segment when thinking about this thread, but this seems a good way to tie them all in while recognising their differences.ehbes wrote:for me theres the 3 groups, two mentioned and then the keysound camp. to me that wen, emma, etch, and the guys that don't fit into the other twojrkhnds wrote:I tend to do this aswell.ultraspatial wrote:idk for me it's pretty easy:

what about Wen? not that it matters.
You gotta say there's a lot of overlap though, like Logos is involved with the Keysound crew a lot especially in combi with mumdance (would mumdance go in grime or keysound?), Hodge doing stuff with Facta etc...thats not a bad thing though, goes with the 'slipperyness' that Blackdown has talked about.

Also, big mix from Caski http://kmag.uk/2014/10/16/caski-guest-mix/

Yeah, first tune I've been looking forward to for some time tbh.

Yeah but see that's what I like. two sides of the 130 coin IMO:
rollers/dark shit with drums: Beneath, Wen, Caski, Facta, Parris, Epoch. Dubstep/funky/techno/jungle etc influence
space/weirdo grime: Murlo, Logos, Mr. Mitch, emma, rabit, moleskin. grime/trap/ambient influence
semantics

Re: 130 thread
well obviously there's gonna be guys who can't really be pinned down to one sound. it's not like that's some super strict division of the scene or w/eTGDavies wrote:I'm late again, sorry, but yeah this is an interesting division, I like it.
