yeah i guess it's alright but i struggle to find anything relevant or useful to me. my topic's a bit weird. i would need really up-to-date stuff on how the internet has changed the music industry, publishing without a label etc

Your school library doesnt have access to an online journal database?

not really. our school has an ebook database but it's pretty lacking in my field as my degree is being run down as soon as soon as all of my class graduates...

well duh but that's easy to put together. cite everything. even if you use a sentence stick that in your references. think i had like 5 or so pages of references in mine
i was just saying that if you can't find any more material, why not do the research yourself? want to know how the internet affected labels etc interview some people who own labels. this way you also have to write less theoretical stuff (also meaning you need less references)

for a thesis, surely some of your own research is more or less a necessity if you want a good grade? could just be my uni though
either way, what ultra said^

well, the way i see it if you conduct a research that's already a thesis on it's own. my thesis consists of the process of building an artist, i'm producing tracks for a mate and shooting his videos, marketing him etc... and i report the process, that's my thesis. so there's a lot of work as it is. if i conduct a research on top of that then phewww

research can be complementary to your theory
i cba to do any real research either but i had shitloads of books and articles already written on the subject
ehbes wrote:Have you tried looking through Kode 9's book?
it's not that relevant for music industry related stuff

Oh sorry, Google's attempt at complete vertical integration is messing with me.
I meant 'Google Scholar'.
I have included a research plan in my proposal, but it's basically analyzing a few films
and games. No real extensive empirical research.
I actually paraphrased some stuff I found on here in my last paper

yes google scholar is cool if you have no database access
