most mainstream music is bollocks though. not all but most. especially commercial 'hip-hop'.

i cant believe Chase and status! with all due respect to rhianna, this is fucking stupid. as its been said many times before, they are no longer in it for the music. its all about the money now.

i reckon hes got it spot on. looking at the links above, the comments the vids get are are all from 13 yr old girls with names like "xXimaslagXx" and ".o0i_love_chase&status0o."

unbelievable, at one point chase and status were one of my favourite artists, way back in the DnB days to their dubstep. but this has just gone too far..

Big up Chase and Status!

Fuck the haters, the more you have the better you're doing...

and I hate the whole sell out argument; now if you hear the music, and it is shit, and not on the level then you can hate...

but really if you're a musician, of any sort, you probably enjoy introducing you're music to new people, that is one of the best feelings in music is putting a new audience on to your shit; so that's what they're doing is branching out, and getting new listeners...

also, fuck hating on them for getting paid; you're just mad you can't make a living off of doing something you love

If all you bedroom producers were offered a contract with puff daddy today, you'd probably take it, and you couldn't be faulted; because it's a good job, you can still be yourself in these situations, especially as a producer imho

they get big named singers, so they can pull in the punters and make more money.. hence, it is about the money.

The only problem is that "dubstep" with rihanna on top of it is not going to be "dubstep".

Not if it's going mainstream atleast. Which is why I can't really be bothered by this. Probably going to follow every other sort of dance-type beat she's had. "Selling out" and making money off of music are two different things.

I was never really a chase&status fan anyways so no devastation or anything.

I appreciate your british sarcasm, but who says they aren't doing their own thing?

I think any sort of hate toward them before hearing it is bullshit

Fact is Chase and Status are talented as fuck and make good music, they should be making good money for it

yeah man foreal man subjectivity does not exist....and i bet it was always their aim to eventually be honoured enough to work with the immense musical genius that is rihanna....dat pon de replay was good but she's just got better and better...that song disturbia gives me goosebumps everytime...

also you're right man no-one has even heard it yet so who are they to judge?
obviously they may have heard chase & status and rihanna but that is surely a moot point yo...also knowing what a major demands in this day and age to sell records to kiddies isn't an excuse for not giving it a chance either yo

but yeah man c&s are factually talented as fuck and therefore deserve enough riches to have a lfo cutoff shaped swimming pool....there has in fact never been a talented musician (at least not one better than c&s) that's been poor whilst making good music..

you sir are righteous and i salute you!

" lfo cutoff shaped swimming pool" lmfao

that was funny

and of course there's great musicians who don't get paid; but, i mean i guess it's the american capitalist in me that sees this as a perfectly logical move for them,
plus despite rihanna obviously being a teeny pop singer, it could still come out good if CnS production is sick...imho

Haters.

Seriously, there producers, anyone who makes beats is a fucking dickhead if they say they wouldn't work with Rihanna given half a chance.

Why as a producer would you not want to try something different and try making some pop with one of the biggest stars on the planet? Not to mention she's fly as fuck and recently single.

On the monetary side, I've studied and I work my ass off to make as much money as I can, if I were a talented producer why wouldn't I use that skill to also make money?

But capitalisms evil and OMG burial was on top gear!!!!!!!!!11
