there is obviously a market for it, but thats what happens when a genre expands. you've got to take the bad with the good. there is no way dubstep is ever going to grow without strange hybrids coming along and stealing little bits of it. you've just got to work out what it is you like and stay true to what you beleive in

well i fell for the rusko, bollucks first, but i'm thankful for it, cos if i hadn't iwould never have come on here, and definitely would never have heard of amazing artists like Ikonika, Darkstar and Mala etc.....

TBH i think the publicity is good. Ok there are downsides, but the positives outweigh them so much.

Good:
1. More people listening to dubstep
2. The variety of dubstep gets larger
3. More money into the scene, encourages artists who other wise may not have been full out producers, to drop their job and actually get out there, creat an album and do what they wanted....

Bad:

haha my 'crap' comment was because of my accidental double post. i don't really spend my time calling peoples music crap on this forum. but i don't know the original, either. and i probably went overboard on my opinions as i tend to do anyway haha. between listening to this track and reading something that you said, which i realised i misunderstood anyway, just made me want to say a couple things.

Ok, In My Opinion,

First Tune was shit, could have been made in about 2 mins, way to boring!
Second tune was kinda cool? Sounded very Rusko though, bassline in particular, Which isn't a bad thing at all but he didn't make it and its kind of rippin his style a bit?
Didn't like that 3rd tune either, very boring!

I don't see anything wrong with so called "Popstep" at the end of the day it will be classified as Dubstep and that does loads of good things for the Dubstep scene!
People that say Rusko, Benga, Caspa etc are shit and only make "Popstep" are idiots!
Artists like those are the most well known dubstep artists worldwide and are doing a lot for the scene!
I thought dubstep was suppose to be fun and Interesting to listen to, always changing and shuffling!
Not just 140 bpm, a snare with delay and reverb, some ambient sound and a bassline that just stays the same for 5 mins?
Don't get me wrong, those songs can be good, When your stoned, But in a club you need something exciting, Bouncy
