i think a little premium content would be a good incentive to get more people to donate, not that i wouldnt do so again without such a thing!

Being pretty new to the scene, i think i tried to use barefiles the week it went down.
After going through all of the posts so far its pretty amazing to see so many people showing love and props to depoah and barefiles.
Defo gona check it when its up and running again.
I'm not technical at all but I work with a load of guys that spend all day every day working with servers/websites, so if you need any help just shout!

i've been checking barefiles every day hoping it would be back up.
oh well, since it went down i've been on this forum more so it's not a total loss.
look forward to your return!

turning barefiles into a torrent tracker rather than a straight download service would cut your bandwidth costs dramatically
...if they're even a concern, that is.

if it takes a hefty load off deapoh's bandwidth, surely it's worth the 5-10 minutes it takes to learn how to use torrents?

but that 5 - 10 minutes may be a decider on whether someone downloads a set to see what this dubstep malarkey is all about or not, and as far as im aware, it is not the bandwidth usage that is causing the problems

If you can keep it free deapoh, you should. Everyone should have equal access to all content for the website to have maximum effect. Thats my thoughts on the matter.

i agree, anyone can use it as it stands, even a complete technophobe, and thats the best way imo
on the paying issue i would happily pay more personally to keep it a free service, because i think its a wonderful thing that it operates as it does, and i would be very sad to see it change. its obviously deapoh's choice though
