Re: DSF label
I would consider going down the EP route.... so an EP of X type followed by an EP of Y, DSF Presents....
Its Digital... Expand the ideas, people aint buying hype from a record shop?

Re: DSF label
why not work on some mixes we could all promote to start with?
someone designs the label and cd front ... we all agree to sell 20 cd's to our mates .... then get the cd's replicated and move on to other stuff ....
let dsf support us

Re: DSF label
then again honestly the production forum is a far reach from the rest of the forum and standard mods and owners of the board
we are fortunate enough to have a solid mod who knows his shit here but rest if the forum and mods are a stretch from this small world we have here

I made that thread and I only titled it "is anyone still making deep" cause otherwise i'd have to write..my_fickle_eye wrote:ditto, been a thread on here recently saying people love deep and another saying people love..."bro" think that is a prime example...86. wrote:I think it's too latedeadly habit wrote:please god not the sub, sub, sub genre bullshit

"so is anyone making that kind of dubstep what isn't to dancey and isn't very aggressive - its soft and mellow with ambient textures flowing throughout"
Its just easier to pigeon hole when explaining what direction you're coming from but I am not bandwaggoning on this 'brostep' thing - its obviously a complete piss take but I'm sure that neurofunk garbage started out the same, it'll go to far hahaha- its all "dubstep" in the grand scene of things no matter how annoying some of it is.

Re: DSF label
Hey - Pressing Issues here (misskatiemo posting on the account today).
We do, in fact, exist! Check out this blog post if you want to see how it all came about - but it literally started with an almost identical post 3 years ago. http://pressing-issues.com/?p=125 - and here's the forum post that started it all - http://www.dubstepforum.com/dubstep-for ... t3539.html
For the poster that mentioned Reso - keep in mind that we released his stuff before he was all over everywhere - our releases were in 2006/7.
The label has always been, and will always be, about supporting emerging artists - whether they've had a few small releases or none at all. Not saying that we won't release things from a well-known artist, but after we put the poll up what gets released is for the community to decide - and it's anonymous (a great tune is a great tune, no matter who makes it).
We took a brief hiatus to re-group, and now we're back working on ISSUE003. Look for news about that release next week (bit of gratuitous "pimp my shit") on DSF, and vote (!!).
We've always loved seeing how much talent is represented on DSF, and how much the members realize and want to further this talent.
There are over 35,000 members on the forum today, compared to the 5,000 when we formed back in 2006 and we're not surprised to see this idea crop up again at all!
Best of luck with whatever you all decide to do, and we look forward to seeing you out at events (two of our members, DJ Cure and Hexadecibel are Vancouver-based, and two - misskatiemo and CEDE are NYC-based) and at WMC in March.
Also - feel free to connect with us directly via PM or on our website, twitter, Facebook, etc - we're around!

Good to see Pressing Issues is still at it, I cacked it back in the day to send a demo when the thread first immerged haha, I got the first release somewhere though! Was a great release, I had to explain to people that Reso wasn't always a big artist and started off posting on DSFpressing issues wrote:Hey - Pressing Issues here (misskatiemo posting on the account today).
