use both just vibe it at the time

for the most part i'd say i used the channels more for dubstep and the x-fade for techno

I very rarely use the crossfader, no matter what genre, unless I'm scratching.

no crossfader unless doing some nifty tricks

i remember reading to not use it while mixing

i was playing live mixing into the next track and was wondering why the next song was so quiet: cause the last DJ had the crossfader almost all the way to the other side!!! BITCH

crossfader centered. for stabs, cuts, scratches, drops and juggles i generally go with the crossfader. although i also enjoy scratching with channel faders. i set my crossfader curve real steep, and the channel faders i set a real mellow curve. basically if i'm going for a blend/mix i'm using channel faders and eq. if i'm dropping straight into the next track, probably going to use the crossfader. i can choose how i want to bring the track in. also fwiw my crossfader is set up hamster style.

My crossfader is busted so I only use the channels. When I do have a working crossfader though I mostly use it for quick cuts and if i'm transitioning with a filter or other effect.
