There's a whole Kode 9 mix and article about sinogrime available at lower end spasm. I think you'll find everything there quite satisfactory.

Kode 9 - 9 Samurai.. probably the first ever japanese dubstep track (samples the theme tune from seven samurai)

Also, i'm currentlyt making an album heavily inspired by Japan

I may be alone in this, but ever since I heard D1 - Baboo I always felt that could be played over a Miike film scene quite nicely. Not the overtly homo ones like DOA, well maybe some of the violent scenes I suppose, but more along the lines of Izu or even Ichi. Maybe even Ju-san.

DJ Shadow and Goth-trad, this thread/topic is beckoning!

All I have to say is the Shamisen is a highly underrated instrument, I'm absolutely void of any instrumental talent, but I will learn to play a few modest renditions before I die.
