I hate moaning on forums, but for me music is not about what gets you gigs, its about creating something your proud of. That comment has acctually pissed me off

edit: I know you probably dont care what I think

edit 2: To the author of this thread, I dont know what you set out to achieve with this thread, but im sure it wasn't another 10 page thread with people moaning. Can this be a lesson: NO MORE THREADS LIKE THIS. I'm sick of coming on here and seeing the 3 highest posted in threads by a long way are ones where people are moaning

sure it can be said about alot of people here, but you went and grossly generalised the entire community on this forum.

Considering the word was used in an incorrect manner I agree: eugenics is based on genetic principles, not music!

robsteppin wrote:zZzZZzzzzz BORING!! this topic has been done to death, what people need to realise is everytime you start a post saying so an so are shit, listen to this waste your actually promoting them because most of these youtube producers wouldn't be heard of on here untill someone posts it. I didnt know who datsik, mt eden, borgore where untill it was posted on here.

So if you wanna promote the sound you love then don't play/listen/bitch about the people you don't like just leave them to it, if they're getting recognition its because your everyday joe bloggs dosen't listen to dubstep with a sub and descent speakers they're listening to it out there laptop speakers so all the deep shit will sound like a slow boring tune.

If you Dj and you wana get your sound recognised keep playing the tunes you love and eventually people will get bored of the generic wobbletech shit and think these sub heavy tunes are banging. Everyone could see this mainstream shift coming so why keep going on about.
you didn't read it at all. you assumed you knew what i was writing about and you were totally wrong. in fact, i'm pretty positive that if you'd read what i said then you'd realize that we're on the EXACT same page.

hahahahahaha rob i love your tunes, especially that remix of "#1 Sound" (literally probably one of my favorite dubstep tracks ever). i'm gonna go out on a limb and assume that first statement is sarcastic, because it's hilarioussssss

as for the second, imo, they really are just as awful. boringly cheesy aggressive vs boringly cheesy boring. :? when dubstep starts to sound like the worst of late 90's aphex twin i feel like something is going awry. tough times...

and im born and bred southern, so yank is a fairly offensive term to me. does it look like saying "eugenics" was meant to be clever? i don't think anybody else read it that way. it's just the most accurate description of what it is. your comment, on the other hand, actually looks like it was meant to be clever, when it's not at all. -q- correct me if i'm wrong?

you joined the forum when you were 13/14? wowzerzzzzzzzzzzzz

i would say you're the exception that proves the rule, hm?

it has nothing to do with moving with the times or being, it has to do with respecting other people. it was also not directed towards YOU or anybody personally. moreso the group mentality that it's okay to act this way and be so condescending towards people who come into the scene wanting nothing more than some information and to be able to chat with folks who they think share their interests. what if you were 14 now, you'd only heard dubstep through youtube, etc. and you joined? you'd be confused as shit about all of this. you wouldn't know why people were attacking you for talking about datsik, you'd just know that there sure are a lot of assholes on here. it's not a welcoming environment, and some people seem angry that i'm even saying it should be. does that seem right to you?

@ Joekool,

my last paragraph is insinuating that some of this music has become so unbearable for me that I can't just go out to any dubstep night anymore because I know it will get major playtime and the bad will outweigh the good. So the night isn't worth going to anymore. You carefully have to plan your night out now and see what dj's are playing to try and minimise the crap so too speak.

Perhaps, a luxury problem. But it's bothersome.

Also , some people are complaining about the amount of these topics sprouting. This should be an indication to some people in the scene that some responsibility should be taken (I'm mainly looking towards big DJ's and radio shows). Stop playing this shit and let the y00tube community feed themselves. And if you wanna go to filth, segregation is the key.....in my humble opinion. I'm sure there are people who like multiple styles of music and want to hear them at the same night : I' m sorry people, but you lot have a luxury problem so fuck off :)
