One of the main reasons were not going to win the world cup is because of Heskey. He's absolue shite and as a newcastle fan it pains me to say this but i would be much happier with darren bent up front than him, heskey will struggle to score an open goal whereas darren bent has a decent finish. Well done capello you tweaker.

And now he's done in Rio's knee by the sounds of it!

Still, I've always wanted Gerrard as captain! 8)

Heskey isn't shit you fools. Holds up the ball well, good in the air, the best player we have to support Rooney easily(he should be in the team for that alone). Yes of course he can't score for love or money and we all know that. Still the best partner for Rooney though!

*waits for replies*

Also agree Ferdinand has had a bad season, Cappello blaintantly wouldnt of started with him if he wasn't the captain, definatly could be a blessing in disguise.

People who understand football know why Heskey is really useful for England. Well done, Sir.

I gave up being worried about Germany in 2001.. just as long as we don't draw fucking Portugal in a knockout round again... if I see Christiano Ronaldo grinning at an England loss one more time I'm flying to Iberia and killing his entire family.
HAHAHAHA... I'll join you on that.

Can't see England getting past the quarter-finals myself - I think it could well be a Spain/Argie final - As much as I love Brazil, Dunga is not a good coach.
Team of the tournament will go to Algeria for their comedy stylings.

Personally, I want Holland to get as far as possible - Always have loved their football.

But Maradona is?!

Don't get me wrong, on paper Argentina are packed with talent, it's depressing comparing the strength in depth their strike force has with ours. But with that absolute nutter in charge, they'll be going nowhere this year.

whats that all about? argentina are lucky to have got into the finals. maradonna is the worst coach going, team lack decent mid field and messi doesnt transfer his club form to international. they're contenders but i doubt they will go all the way. i think germany and spain for the finals. maybe spain brazil. england'll do alright. i'm putting a fiver on them going to the semi's.

though it pains me, i think france are gonna crash out early. its not like they even deserve to be in the finals anyway. seems so long ago that i was celebrating the 98 win with my dad! :(

Everytime I see or read the word 'hype' I get the tune Blackberry Hype in my head. I hope this stops soon.

Maradonna is crazy enough to make it work...

England have a really good chance this year (I know we say it every year but despite all the pessimism and injury talk it is true).
However, Spain will seriously be kicking themselves if they don't win it this time around, they definitely have the strongest side on paper.

People, like me, fretting over who should start for England should imagine what it's like for Argentinian fans lol.

England, IMO, should go with

-----------Rooney------
-----------Gerrard------
J.Cole---------------Lennon
-------------------------------
----------Lampard--------
------------Barry-------------
------------------------------
A.Cole--JT--King--Johnson
-------------------------------
-----Green/James/Hart-----

Argentina though is impossible:

-----------Higuaín/Milito---
--Teves/Aguero/Di Maria--Messi

What they gon doooooo?
