She will be sorely missed, sad to see her go but good luck with all future projects and thankyou for doing so much for the scene. I know for one that without her famous Dubstep Warz show, i would maybe not have ever heard the music which has changed my life.

Does anybody have a link to the infamous Dubstep Warz of 06, in decent quality? rather than 64kbs as is offered by get darker

Thanks

Loefah recommended she goes to Rinse...and I hope I hear her there one day...even if it's on the odd occasion.

She's done SO much for electronic music...and what she has done for this scene, well, it's hardly even measurable.

Big up the Queen of Dubstep...I hope she finds happiness in her new venture. She is Irreplacable.

So sad that she's gone. One of my fondest dubstep memories was at Coachella before there were a lot of people at the camping stage and I watched MAH spin with like 10 other people there and I was like 6 feet from her the whole time, pretty magic stuff. I'll miss her voice and her bomb selection but shiiiit, it's not like she's dead and I'm sure we'll be hearing more bass from that womens turn tables for a long time

Sad news! Huge respect to Mary Anne, very few can lay claim to the kind of influence she has had on the UK underground music scene. Honored to have mixed for her and feature on her shows and Evangeline compilation album.

I'm sure she'll keep representing :D

This.

There is no one out there even 1% as enthusiastically dedicated to the music as her. Impossible shoes to fill.

They're already online if you've bothered to google.

But,

Mary Anne Hobbs has definately pushed the scene to more open minded audiences over the years and it's her we must give thanks. Whether you're a small time producer spending your PRS money on computer games or a big boy producer taking part in the documentaries and re-enforcing probably the most accurate representation that anyone could give Dubstep (even though she snubbed many things as 'boring') with her ear for quality control.

Massive respect.

Well, not a great deal to add to what's already been said. Respect to her for acting dramatically and decisively as ever and quitting, as she says in the press release, while she is still absolutely on top of her game.

If you haven't, check out the epic interview I did http://www.theartsdesk.com/index.php?op ... &Itemid=30 - and if you have time, the longer version it links to. Or even if you have, check it out again! Remind yourself how she understands underground music whatever its genre. From reading the NME in my teens to having her support my friends like Super_Collider in the electronic scene of the 90s, through to watching her help to blow dubstep up worldwide like no British underground genre has managed before, she has always been sooooooooooo on it. Once again: RE.... SPECT!

if you have anything that can compare to that, let me know. have some decency and understand that this day is not a day to be taking some internet shots just to make yourself look good. this is mary's day. let her have it.
calm down lad

good luck mary, thanks 4 the support and i hope u get to continue what ur doing.

I have to say that I have never listened to one of her shows, so really I could not care less what she has chosen to do! Am sure Dubstep will do just fine without her!
