if someone could elaborate on what a sound design tut would be about i would maybe ask for it. maybe.

if it means i'll turn from experimentation to knowing how to create/change certain sounds in the way i imagine, then OH MY GOD DISREGARD EVERYTHING I EVER SAID I WANT THAT!
if not, then i prefer stereo mixing :P

I'd like a good tutorial on making drum hits with synths and samples. I have a bit of experience, but haven't even scratched the surface on what could be done.

that's no fun cause i know everything there is to know obviously :6:
nah i'd rather do tutorials on what people want to know, rather than techniques i use, because a good chunk of the time i'm experimenting and trying new things which may not always work or be helpful for others.

Yaeh +1 for this.

You run a lot of your bits to tape dont you Deadly? A general discussion on this and other techniques for getting that warmth would be really interesting.
Yeah! Maybe even touch on downsampling/bit reduction? Or are those in the distortion category?

Would love to see a tut on diff techniques using resampling and other methods to conserve cpu/ram while keeping the workflow going in a smooth non-destructive manner.

Something on layering different breaks together and with one shot drums as well, and just break manipulation in general would be interesting. Something I've been playing around with abit latey.

I read in a few posts about a workflow tutorial, and personally, as much as I love watching some of these masterclass videos simple because they show you some of their workflow processes that they go through, it's also difficult to take anything away from those processes as sometimes it just doesn't work for me. I think creating a useable workflow tutorial as far as track layouts, would be very difficult, cause even the person making the tutorial most likely doesn't have a "set in stone" process that they use on every single track. Sometimes the processes aren't even readily available on another DAW than the one being used by the tutorial producer. I think, if you're going to do something like that, it would generally have to be moved away from a tutorial style video, and just more of a, "So I'm working on this track and I'm going to record myself as I go". I think even then, because you're recording yourself, you're going to end up not doing things entirely as if there was no one watching cause there's probably things you do that you either don't want people to see or you just don't want to admit that you do, and that's the stuff that ends up being what people really want to know about.

I think I would have to throw my vote in on the compression suggestion. Compression has always eluded me and it would be great to get some really good in depth info on how it works and ways it's best used.
