Re: [running] dsf sample swap
bump and a quick lil service announcement:
for those of you using free file sharing services such as mediafire, rapidshare, etc this will give you an unlimited host for your sample packs/presets and a direct link available with no waiting
all it takes is a quick pm to get access to uploading
if ftp upload is not your forte, or you want this to be a mirror for something you have already uploaded make a tag of dsfsampleswap in the thread and pm me and i'll try to get it uploaded for said user asap
i usually don't do this, but my wallet is looking pretty barren these days and the yearly hosting bill is coming soon, so any donations people would like to make towards this and the production blog so i can keep it ad free would be appreciated. i set up a paypal just for this mhigbee420@gmail.com
every lil cent would be appreciated so i don't have to go give handjobs in an alley to keep it running
as an incentive for donating i'm gonna offer a few tier levels:
2$/1 Euro/1 Quid - release of your choice in format you want from tentative or any tune from my commercial back catalog
8$/5 Euro/5 Quid - add to tentative promo list (all future digital releases for free, plus i'll toss you the back catalog)
20$/15 Euro/15 Quid - all of the above plus next 3 physical releases (have 2 cds planned for 2011 plus more)
i know it's not much to offer, but it's the one way i can think of to say thank you

Re: DSF Sample Swap
I'll send you $20 next week as soon as i get my check from work
also, might i suggest trying out dreamhost? It might be a pain to move the site(s) over, but you can get a year of hosting, with unlimited space and bandwidth, and a free domain registration for just under $10, if you use the promo code 777.

Re: DSF Sample Swap
actually i'm happy with the host i'm using as they have that same deal (not price) and have yet to bitch at me about bandwidth usage or storage space and the speed seems to be fine. (plus like you said it's a pain in the ass moving hosts)Phigure wrote:I'll send you $20 next week as soon as i get my check from work![]()

much appreciated bout the donating man

i'm trying to do a more longterm deal to save cash on it so every lil bit counts and as promised i'm gonna do my lil bit i can for compensation
also may try to add a java or cgi uploader for those who can't deal with ftp (i know some of you guys struggled with that from some of the pms of people who never used and ftp client before)
i'll prolly toss some more breaks and content up today since tis the season
anything you guys think that can be done to improve the sample swap feel free to share

Re: DSF Sample Swap
lemme go through my akai sample cds and double check some of em are not available to buy anymore and i'll try to accommodate that
in the meantime i'd suggest searching for some chiptune sample pack drum hits. i know i snagged some quality ones ages ago, http://woolyss.com/chipmusic-plugins.php think on this site (just did a quick link from my bookmarks list)
currently upping the original doa sample swap file which for some reason clone (guy who run's the www.darkbeats.com/sampleswap) doesn't have in that directory any more, i think it's on a hidden one, but i still have it on my hd so figured should share it here too

Re: DSF Sample Swap
i suggested it before, but i'd like to at least offer this as a mirror for the reg contests here too, so even when those packs and links are dead people can go back and mess with em
