I thought about TC as well when I heard this. Stupid and mindless wobble fun for the whole family which serves its purpose, but that's about it as far as I'm concerned.Intoccabile wrote:It's a fun, upbeat and mindless wobbler, with a top end that reminds me of TC's recent output.

Could have fooled me.
Edit: That sounds a bit cheeky! All I meant was that people are dismissing it and calling it things like "stupid" and "mindless" while not making any specific criticisms of it and only mentioning that it is a "banger" and "fun" therefore leading me to think that they are dismissing this track as purely being utilitarian, gebrauchsmusik for dancing to type thing. I'm not trying to put words in anybody's mouth, just going with what I'm reading and making some perhaps unwarrented extrapolations.

I think the point people are trying to make is that this tune is a painfully typical wobble banger that Skream has done many times before, which indeed has little use other than feeding the dancefloor. The "mindless" and "stupid" comes from how the tune is very obvious and in your face, much like the aforementioned TC and his wobble output.jim wrote: Edit: That sounds a bit cheeky! There isn't anything wrong with making fun and silly dancefloor tunes like these per se (particularly when Skream experiments as much as he does otherwise). I think people just get a bit annoyed when it is claimed that this is Skream at his best and so on, since a) too much wobble is never good and b) Skream has much more to offer than his usual LFO bangers.
A FUCKING MEN BROTHER.jason burns wrote:wtf?
now im kinda new to this dubstep shite. but so far my impression was that it was just supposed to be fun. kind of an alternative to d'n'b which has become decidedly not so fun. in large part due to the same type of elitist snobbery displayed in this thread.

Lovin all of Skream's output at the moment, he's dabblin in everything from dark side stompers to techy faster stuff to wobbly bizniz like this to the lighter stuff like the new Ringo release (is it called watching clocks, or clock watching? I forget.)
Skream = Don
But i agreee with what your sayin too bruv, skream is versatile.
LOL @ some of the posts in this thread tho, jeeez 'its not his best work' LMAO its a banging tune, full of vibes, that would go off on the dancefloor, appriciate it for what it is.
it certainly isnt just 'kind of an alternative to dnb'! ridiculousjason burns wrote:wtf?

dubstep is clearly about fun, but its also always (to me) been about experimentation, and exploration of new sounds, moods, rhythms, dynamics etc.
i can see the irritation about some of the attitudes tho, i agree its not about that.
Skream is still the man to be fair, when he hits the mark hardly anyone can touch him, and he can in all fairness do what he likes. which is why i dont chat ill of him even if im not personally feeling the tune
