Well the problem is that on sick tracks like Borgore's Ice Cream or Doctor P's "sweet shop" (dunno if you've heard that before) that you can't hear the midrange or squee sounds thanks to some asshole mc.

I am surprised at the amount of people on this forum supporting the MC'ing.

People in England seem to have a high level of tolerance for MC's. Like I said, I do respect the MC's. I don't mind an MC chanting some bs here and there, spitting a verse or two throughout the set. The problem is screaming shit non stop all over the set.

N-type is the biggest culprit of loud mc'ing all over his sets, it would be nice if he turned his mic volume down and was a bit more sporadic with his mc'ing. Toast is probably one of the more tolerable MC's on Rinse.

Oh I see... so when you're listening to non-dubstep music (i.e. Electro) the MC pisses you off....
I've got no problem with that.

im being serious. have you ever listened to any UK pirate radio before you started streaming rinse online last week?

i mean, has the last 20+ years of 'nuum pirate radio just escaped your attention entirely?

its a bizarre question to ask. not my fault you came here flexing your ignorance... you dont like it? so what, thats what studio mixes are for... asking for london pirate radio without MCs is absurd.

exactly. lots of these 'mc's' are just hosting the show anyway, they're not proper mc's. they make the show more enjoyable in my opinion. without them, how could ticket competitions be held? or how would we find out the track IDs? or how would you ask them to big up your mate or whatever?

i do understand the basis for the mc'ing on the sets, but i would say that for the most part, people are listening cause they want to hear the music. In my opinion, having someone scream on a mic every 15 seconds is unnecessary and annoying.

According to this thread, I am the only person whom thinks this way, and how can one be so ignorant to even propose that the mc'ing on Rinse is a bit too much?

A purely instrumental radio show would be boring. Besides, if you want an uninterrupted mix there are plenty of mix CD's in the market, let alone mixcloud sets etc etc

I'll agree that screaming every 15 seconds is unnecessary (and i'll concede it does annoy me when a tune drops and you only get a few bars in before the DJ/MC opens their mouth) but it's ingrained in the culture.

Bless the good MC's that aren't deluded into thinking they have big lyrics and can just let the tune breathe and the mix flow
