It could be worse, anyone that posts at http://www.idmforums.com/ and has seen the Dubstep section knows what I'm saying.

90% of the crap that pops up there belongs in the dubs or mix section
you get people who comes up with all these "great" ideas that last for all of a couple days before it's back into chaos
wasn't it just a few months back that there was a sticky announcing all tune links that weren't releases belonged in the dubs section unless it was a release. look how well that's going
this board at least has some semblance of order, and no the production forum doesn't hate it
we just hate the poor trolls who frequent this side who try miserably to be funny or post obvious wind ups
do you still think thats the case? i've been trying to sort that out but one man can only do so much

anyway some kind of change is almost certainly going to happen, just need to work out what

Always thought the 'Dubstep' section was just promo... Never really interested in hype or buying tunes so don't peep there

Kinda seems like perhaps a lot o' people project way too much importance onto this site and it's purpose though, sometimes feels like they've willingly sacrificed a huge chunk of life to live virtually, rather than paying a dossing visit when bored/chilling etc. Not dissing individual choices like, but slightly explains some conflict when you consider the different reasons people use this, before even considering the vastly differing views that are expressed afterwards

Solitary creatures wi' the pseudo social scenesssssssssss :w:

i'm not blaming mods in particular it's the lack of having enough mods that's the main problem, but there does seem to be a lack of enforcement or deterrent to making it ad/spam central
every time i pop over there there's like 4 or 5 hit and run spam posts from people who register post their tunes and links up
and that's it for starters
if i want to actually have an actual discussion about dubstep sadly that's not the board i go to. a couple years back it would have been my first choice.

I for one never even saw this, and the description of the Dubs forum is "members tracks and feedback only" - so I wouldn't be so hasty in blaming the user base for this one.

used to be on the main board before they moved it

I used to try to be helpful in the dubs section, but the tunes in there now are so bad for the most part.

The main forum, I thought was just for making fun of people? :?

cosmic surgeon wrote:Problem with the main forum is that it's too big - "dubstep" denotes such a fucking huge variety of sounds now that it really does need at least two forums for it. Joenice's post in Seckle's thread about splitting it into two, one forum for genuine dubstep and another for tearout, was a decent idea.

i think the main forum would be better if called "general forum" like most boards have it.

it might stop so many people that are usually new to the board from posting tunes/mixes on there
