depends, it's kind of complicated

there was confusion between dubstep and grime and people had different opinions and dubstep was a pretty loose term

but here's a hatcha mix from 2002 from blackdown's blog which gives you an idea, i spose you could say these were pretty early

it'll probably be a good 20 years before a significant genre of uk beat based dance music comes around that the Future Sound Of London wernt doing 15 years ago, the clues in the artist name really.
