just to turn this all inside out - this dude remixed a salem track in a juke style - and it's wicked!

Both of them are good but I prefer drag to juke. Don't like much juke. DJ nate - Ima burn is amazing, though.

Drag is a lot more interesting imo. Reminds me of Joy Divison,The Jesus & Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine etc.

Some of the Zola jesus stuff reminds me of drag.

Dragg is aight, but I feel like people are only exposed to one style of juke, ie, the kind that is overly vocal, and erroneously think that is what the music is all about. Imho the juke that combines soulful melodies and vocal hooks with skipping toms and incredible sub bass is some of the best dancefloor music to hit the floor for a bit... Dragg is dope too tho

i would add Siouxsie & The Banshees to that list especially where zola jesus is concerned. but now w/ these bands it's like 4th generation and it's basically still the same. i guess as long as there are angsty teens there will be another generation of slow fuzzy ploddy bands to keep them filled with darkness.

After this thead and looking around, my favourite tune has to be Salem - Redlights. Tune is actually magic.

Anyone tried mixing this with any dubstep yet? xD

Juke vs Drag is a pretty odd comparison. Juke is built for the dance and for dancing to. The same can't be said for drag. They draw influences from similar areas, but they're pretty far apart.

i've been trying to bang out a response with this exact sentiment but got a little too redundant.

this is the first i've heard of drag, pretty out there. does no one else find that live vid as haunting as me?
hey, you wouldn't hire a clown to fix a leak in the john..so why do you let these hooligans tear down the biz?

just in general.. what one appeals to YOU more.. i know they are pretty much on the opposite spectrum but they both share one thing... a lot of hype and a newly found worldwide fan base

some of the tracks posted up are good, the tri angle mix especially, but that live salem performance had me :? the whole way through.

i'm gonna have to say that in the juke v. drag competition, juke gets my vote.

those tunes are relentless

can anyone offer any insight? seems like a dope junkie/hatchet swinging midwest thing from the looks of that vid.
they're just shit live, most of its studio recorded + then manipulated so unsurprisingly when you can't just prerecord the terrible raps and screw them down, its painfully obvious you're bad at rapping.

also a tent in broad daylight isn't exactly the ideal environment for this stuff, more headphones bizness
